Hi guys as a 19 year old student im pretty much scraping the pounds in slowly to go to Amsterdam. I have bought my tickets which cost £68 pound with easy Jet from Bristol, Baragin if you ask me anywayz at the moment i have 120Euros to spend a day for 4 days. Would you say that this is a reasonable amount? Just enough to have a laugh as many would say?

I have read other topics similer to mine but all seem to go off the topic and sound rather crazy like "I spent 5000euro's in 3 days"

If that includes food, it'll be tight. But you'll find a way.

That amount should be fine. I'll be on a little less per day than that and I cant see a problem for myself. Well I'm a non smoker back home so I cant see me spending to much on smokables.

But I guess it depends on your eating and drinking preferences as much as anything. I for 1 intend to do most of my beer drinking in the hotel via the local supermarket. Simply cos I'd never have enough money if I drank all my beer in the bars at some €5-6 a bottle\pint. I mean 1 beer in a bar can buy you 8-20 bottles from the right shops!. But in saying that there are a few cheaper bars and those that do happy hours on beer for like as little as €2.40 a pint.

Besides you can drink at home anyways so why not keep the best part of your spending money for smoking?. As for eating try to keep to cheaper places or eat foods that will fill you up for the day. If your hotel etc does the free breakfast (like mine does) stock up on that as it will sure save several Euros a doy on food.

Even then some €120 per day should still easily allow you to eat 1 decent meal a day. I myself, even back home prefer snacking on the move rather than sit down for an hour or more to wait for and eat a meal. More so when on holiday.

It dont mean I you or anyone would be loosing out on any experience that way. It simply means you'd be cutting down on what you can do back home to increase your bedget on what you want to go for in the first place.

€120 a day? more than enough as long as you stay clear of the rld.

Lol na i got myself a rather long term GF been with her 5 years now so will only be browsing the RLD Im more concerned with the price of the weed than anything isit enough to have a good days smoking, How many joints you get from a gram?

Have a look at some of the coffeeshop menus, thers is always a link to them in the posts that FlyByNite does in this section!.

Your gonna pay anything from €5 per gram upto €60 per gram. Think the average is about €12 per gram or there abouts. As for how many J's per gram, well impossable to answer fully. I'd do about 2 or 3 per gram myself.

Just eat cheap and do a bit of sightseeing in the day with some weed. Then hit a couple of Cs on the evening. Should get you through.

Ive just got back, and I took enough, after hotel fees, to have 80 euros a day. Now i was a little worried about this, but i did have my Girlfriend there who had some back up money so i knew id be ok, but it was plenty. I didnt smoke as much as Id have liked only because i was ill, but I wouldnt have smoked that much more and i brought money home too! We ate well, although not at restaurants, and bought drinks at coffeshops and we had plenty dude, dont sweat it!

my tip for you would be to actually divide the cash up into days allowances. Leave the rest in your room if its safe to do so and then you will know exactly how much you have left for the trip, it was great for me this method, as when Im stoned i lose all concept of value and money in general, so it helps to be able to see how much you have.

Also, its down to taste and personal preference how much you put in a spliff and therefore how many you get out of a G. Personally my G/friend doesnt smoke much, so our spliffs were standard big red rizlas, nice n fat with a layer of baccy, and Id generally get 4 out of a gram.

With 120 a day, youll be fine if you dont go mad/arent a smoking monster.

Look, i dont spend nearly as much as some people in here & i have a great time everytime. But it depends what your into, i like architecture & am happy enough during the day just wandering round, having the occasional joint & checking out the many amazing sights of the dam. I have never been big on eating out, so i'll go the supermarket and buy some cheap pasta or noodles, quick to make, filling, tasty, and cheap.

Some people get baked & then keep smoking anyway, i have a J and only when i feel it ebbing do i have a top up. I smoke mid priced stuff with a couple of cheap filler strains. There are cool bars that are open late & have no entrance fee & beers at 1E. I've been to club that was open until 4-5am was only 3 euro to get in & beers were 1.50

I'll enjoy a nice 5-6hr trip in vondelpark & during that time all i will have spent is the money on the shrooms.

I've spent 50E a day & been high all day, seen the sights, fed myself, headed to a bar and had a fair few beers.

If you want to go to restruants & smoke yourself through 5g a day & you fall into a rip off bar & have little to no interest in seeing the sights, then your gonna pay more.

I'll go further, i've had a great time on 30e in a day, that translated as 15 beers, a cheap couple g of maroc, which was surprisingly nice for the cost, and a takeaway

That's not including my hostel money obviously.

Once I went with 100 euros for 2 days. (we are talking about smoke, eat and drink money here). I was broke but was given the opportunity to travel and sleep to Dam for free, couldn't refuse, but I only had 100 euros!

I went to trefpunt coffeshop. I bought 5 grams of Jack herrer for 25 euros+5 grams of NYC diesel for 25 euros+5 grams of huispolm hasj for 27.50 euros. Dealer gave me 2 grams of white widow for free. So I had 12 grams of weed and 5 grams of hasj, and managed to eat and buy coffees in coffeeshops with the 22.50 euros left, and still had a great time!

But another trip I also spent 500 euros in 2 days, stayed in a 4 stars hotel, ate at restaurants, and for some reasons accidently found 60 grams in my bag back home.

Manage your trip accordingly with your money and you'll be FINE! Just MANAGE correctly!

I would say its sufficient. And for food... there are such great and cheap possibilities over there, especially when you are swaying down the streets and NEED something quickly.
My favourite are these machines, where you get excellent snacks for 1 €. They are better than they look like. Or at least you think that when you eat that stuff in the mood you normally are in Amsterdam...

^ Sounds like FEBO...not been brave enough to try them, had worry's about how long the food was sat there

Making my own stuff means i stay full and it only works out to 4-5 euro a day.

My budget this trip is going to be 50 a day, im not going to worry if it goes a little over but as i know i can have a lot of fun with that amount, i dont see the point in spending more. Also, if i spend less when i go away, it means i can travel more often. Its a balance between fun & fequency

thats 30 euros on weed, nice breakfast is 10 euros, nice pub/resturant lunch is 10euros, and dinner usually is just chips coz im in party mode by then, so thats 2 euros.

that leaves about 70 euros to piss away or waste on mars bars and novelty lighters etc all day.

just say no to those spontanious 200 euro glass bong purchases.
