Im Here

Post by Kaiser Saucy »

arrived early & headed to hostel to drop of my bags, then headed to picasso's apparently it's strictly no baccy inside, bought a g of big budz for 8 E, nice compact bud, lots of crystal, was told it was dominant sativa, but it has a strong warm body stone with mild head high. nice taste.

went back to hostel to try and get some sleep but it was way to noisy. prob head off for a wander now

yep, it's all good...weather is great, clear sky's and hot sun, was wishing i brought my shades today. peaceful during the day but it's starting to pick up now and get that buzzy atmosphere. got badly lost coming back from albert heines for provisions & ended up walking about 40 mins than i needed to

the hostel bar is expensive, 2.60 and it's not even a proper pint. I tried to find nes cafe earlier and couldnt, will look at map and try again....you sure they let you smoke in there?

Yes, if you can find Dam square you should be able to find the Nes.

still cant find it....went to dampkring (former floyds, left without buying, used to be a homely cool looking place but now it looks like a chintzy wine bar. headed down to picasso's again, got some Afghani hash, rich dark colour, really soft and oily..7 euro. sweet taste and nice body stone.

went for a wander and ended up at basjoes, got white widow for 7-8 euro, well cured, nice taste, mixed high and stone

Have a good time, dude.

Nes is on a street called Nes, which is exactly at the point where Damstraat empties into Dam Square (on the extreme southeast corner of Dam Square). It's about 50-75 meters down that street, on your left.

Grrr, as much as I hope you have a great time, I am jealous beyond words. If your still looking for a place to smoke tobaccobles and drink a pint, the GHE bar allows both, and theres some lovely comfy benches and tables at the back. But beer is priceyish :(

Walk down warmoestraat heading towards Dam Square, once you get to Dam square keep going straight (past the NH Krasnopolsky hotel) and the first road junction you should come to should be the corner of Damstraat/Nes - the Nes cafe is down on the left.

ok had to switch hostels today, got totally lost and it took nearly 1 30min to walk to vondelpark, came across mellow yellow on the way and got some blueberry CC winner last year, 7 E, nice and fruity, good flavour, and a nice comfortable stone that creeps up on you. Also tried some amnesia haze from stones cafe, bit harsh on the throat. have noticed greenhouse effect have some temple ball at 10.50 anyone know if its good, im tempted. Might wander off later, it's pretty quiet around here, but it's saturday night - so im off to see whats happening.

How many bulldogs does amsterdam really need?? they are everywhere, on one street near RLD there are like 4 bulldog places

Good for you for being in Amsterdam, :) bummer on getting lost, but you find your way and it's all good. Have you tried the Temple Balls from Stix on Utrechtsestraat. Very nice taste....good buzz. 12.50 E I think.

Right....i know i've been home 3 months or so, but i thought i should finish off some sort of report for this trip.

When i left off it was saturday night and i was heading back to centrum as it was a little dead around vondelpark. I walked up to leidse and got a burger, dumped some shrooms on and ate it while waiting for a tram. The shrooms were well and truly kicking in when i got to dam square. I sat off and had a smoke & was content to people watch for a while. There was a fog coming down and the monument and lights in the square were really impressive. After a while i got an inpulse to go to the blues brothers coffee shop, i had just got a coffee and sat down to skin up when in comes a canadian bloke i had been hanging round with. I like the 'Blues Brothers' the interior is nice, the music is mellow....and their bubblegum is a must try!! it's a 10E minimum spend in there and i think i got 1.4g for that.

When i went in for it i was tired and run down, halfway through the 1st joint i got a rush of energy and a great clear head high, lovely flavour and smell, nice dense buds. I know this write up is a few months old, but get yourself some bubblegum if your over. Im giving it favourite smoke of the trip.

We felt it was time to move on so we headed to my NEW favourite coffee shop....Hill Street Blues

I love the interior of this place, graffiti over everything, nice lighting, big comfy sofas on the first level with a big window looking out over the canal onto damrak, which is even better at night when it's all lit up. Downstairs is like a ships cabin, with another window looking onto damrak. Pool table, table football, cheap drinks - 1.50 for a latte or fruit juice, instead of the 2.50 charged in a lot of other places.

This is also where i found my favourite bargain smoke of the trip. I had picked some Afghan hash up from picasso's on the 2nd day for 7E a gram. Well Hill Streets was better - and it was just 4E a gram or 10E for 3g. Nice flowery taste and smell, smooth light stone, perfect for a wake and bake or that last joint of the night. Fill up on this one. I bought some lovely pollem in here too, think that was 6-7E. And i think i got some orange bud too at about 8e, nice smoke but nothing special.

fast forward to next day

I finally dropped into basjoe's and was dissapointed to be honest. pricey drinks, service took a while, got some average white widow, nothing special. Walking back from there i dropped into greenhouse effect - mainly because it was hot & they had some nice seating looking over the canal. Interesting looking place, staff were a bit brusque, got some powerplant at 9E i think, NOT recommended. Had a powdery peppery taste & the high was poor. Couldnt touch the stuff pure & had to mix with baccy.

And many many many other varieties were tried when passing joints around at the hostel......that many in that short a time, while already baked, makes it impossible to comment on the effects.

But for taste & quality, chocolope and blue cheese, think the lad picked them up from grey area, were very nice. The grey area's kiff packs a punch and run at 17e a gram.

Most places were giving firm no's to lighting up baccy inside. The couple of places that did give me the nod to mix - im keeping schtum about in the hopes that they can carry on ignoring the ban in peace.

What else - Red light district is always a entertaining walk, no i didnt give in to temptation, even though two girls really weren't playing fair & starting getting off with each other to get my attention

The weather was amazing for that time of year, hot and sunny every day i was there.

A lot of bars are charging rip off prices now 5E for less than a pint is shit - but there are still plenty of places with better atmospheres that dont try to rip their customers off.

Met some very nice people, one or two very strange people & had a great time.

So - Best Staff award, goes to - Picasso's. the dealer was very friendly and very helpful.

Best smoke award - Blues brothers - for Bubblegum

Best Bargain award - Hill street blues - Afghani hash

Overall Favourite shop - Hill street blues

I didnt make it out to Dolphins or find Nes Cafe, but next trip, they will be found.

I think i've remembered a decent amount considering the amount i smoked and the time thats passed. I've got a lot more detail, but it feels like i've been typing for ages so im stopping now.
