If I buy a batch of skunk and get next to zilch out of it, either smoked or baked, and I'm told by my supplier (a friend) that he has had some himself and it knocked his head off, and not only that everyone else said it was knockout too, how much of an idiot am I? It smelt pretty good but was quite dry and powdery. Can anyone plse advise?

If you got nothing from it being injested, 10.
Don't listen to whatever dickslap told you he got high off it and so did his friends, if you didn't then it's shit, end of.

Is skunk not the basis of alot more popular strains?
In the basis meaning somewhere in the genetics.

Don't stay away from skunk by any means. I think I've heard good things about Katsu's skunk on this forum. It is in SSH and quite a few strains.

The likes of K2 (one of it's varients certainly) was a skunk #1 crossed with NL and something else but like Ash says, alot of people in UK just refer to grass as skunk, I wouldn't stay away from skunk 'cause one dude bought shit off some other dude somewhere else in the world - what a ridiculous notion. Why it took the powers that be so long to latch onto that name I dunno. The town I grew up in all grass was skunk but after moving to the city it was grass. Grass when I was growing up refered to that mexican brick weed shit so it was a bit confusing and I turned down the odd bit of grass before somebody informed me otherwise. Terminology, eh?

Cheers Neldo i thought skunk was crossed to create alot of strains, guess crossing smoking any skunk off your list could cut down your list alot.
My grows have always inculded a skunk no. 1 plant. And i have a major soft spot for skunk. I like the strong danky smell of buds the commerical appeal in the bag and the knock out stone. I once bought some very very good super skunk from Rasta Baby. But the best skunk ive bought in Holland come from Empire which is in Harleem.

Not 100% sure but the name skunk comes from the animal, the odour a skunk gives off is the exact same as the
weed skunk, visited canada once and heard two old dears talking about " that stinking skunk smell again " made me laugh it did.
Peace
