Take it to the Post Office and ask them to send it priority as this goes through quicker, make sure its no more than 10 grams as well, that'll cost about €3 oh and if you're religous pray.

I know a guy who sends 20 grams in a package like that every week. As far as I know he has only lost one. It costs 3 Euros(as boner said) or 4 -.75 priority stamps. They come in a book of 10.

I remember the first time I posted a package back... the guy in the TNT on Haarlemerstraat weighed the package and was like thats 2.80 standard or 3 euro priority. needless to say it was a very well spent extra .20c

When you went and weighed it did he take the package of you or did you then take it and post it your self ....? I mean these people must be very suspicious of Brits and Yanks posting packages :P

Why should he be suspicious? If a french guy walks into a london post office should the counter staff be automatically suspicious? Its not a crime to use the postal service when abroad, and with the huge expat community in A'dam I doubt you would have any problems, I havent, but I am reasonably clean cut.
