Sorry guys, forgot to do notes again so this may well be a jumbled mess but someone might find it useful so here goes:

Day 1 Wednesday

For a load of complicated and uninteresting reasons, i arrived in Amsterdam unexpectedly early at 9am. A quick call to the apartment guy and he said we can meet at 11.30am at the earliest so a bit of time to kill - time to kill in amsterdam-what shall i do???
I walked from Central station to where i thought Central used to be but i guess all the work going on there and the roadworks confused me and i didn't find it. Having read a lot about it on here, including them having a smoking room , i headed for The Green Place, or at least where i thought it was. According to my rough pre-trip calculations, i thought it was virtually opposite Concious Dreams - so i got to CDreams - nothing? round the corner - nothing?. Thoroughly confused, i headed into Hunters instead.

The place was empty and the friendly young budtender seemed pleased to have someone to talk to. I asked him the best bud and he said "Super Silver Haze, hands down, best batch we've ever had" Now, as tempting as that was, I am a non-smoker and only toke when in The Dam so first-day (and definitely first-toke) caution is the watchword. So, taking a mental note and promising that i'd be back in a day or two for the SSH, i bought some of the lighter Sour Diesel. Settling into a seat, i rolled up a slightly tobacco-heavy first spliff and enjoyed the Amsterdam vibe at 9.30am in the morning- aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :D

The Sour Diesel was ok, had a strong sour taste to it and a slow, mellow high - probably wouldn't get it again as i prefer sweeter tasting weed but a decent start nonetheless. So, 9.30 became 10.30 and another probably 50-50 spliff later, it was 11.20 and time to go. I asked my new budtender friend about a medium strength tasty smoke and he recommended the kush (think it was burmese kush?) so i bought a gram and went on my way.

Met the apartment guy - turned out the meeting place was right near the Dampkring Seed Shop, so i popped in, bought a grinder and took a look at the huge 'educational' plants they've got there - wow! Off to my apartment, which was a bit out the way on the other side of the Westerpark but really nice all the same. Seems his cleaner had made an early morning visit and cranked the heating right up so it was lovely and roasting warm on a cold autumns morning! It may well have been that warmth that convinced me to sit down on the sofa and roll up a kush reefer. This time the balance was switched in favour of the weed, maybe 70% weed, 30% tobacco. The kush was lovely, stronger than i expected and really smooth. Another hour or so later and the rest of the kush finished i got up off my arse and headed for Dekuil to meet Dave from this very forum. That's where i made a fatal mistake. My apartment was obviously some way off the top left corner of the ACD map i usually use to get around - there was a local map up on the apartment wall (up to about where the Prinsengracht joins the Haarlemerstraat) but instead of jotting down a crude version or even ripping it off the wall i just had a quick look and thought 'no worries' :?

I arrived at DeKuil about 5 minutes late, walked in and bought some Parvati Cream hash and some weed (may have been NYCD but can't remember? Hey Dave-maybe you can remember?). I then saw Dave right at the back of the shop so walked over, introduced myself and we got chatting about all sorts. Really nice guy - great to meet you Dave! :)

About an hour later, things started to go a bit pear-shaped tbh. Coming towards the end of a spliff of the unknown weed, i began to feel a bit wierd - hmmm - massive head rush - that'll pass, numbness - surely i'm not gonna whitey? then i started heaving - just a look at Dave's face told me i needed to get to the loo so a quick dash there. I honestly felt like i was gonna throw my guts up but all that came out was a small amount of clearish liquid, but i sure felt better afterwards! Returning to a rather bemused Dave full of apologies, i tried to work out what had happened. It was only when analysing it, i remembered i'd missed breakfast that day, thinking i'd get some in the Dam, but had become so overtaken with buying and smoking bud i'd forgotten to eat - same goes for lunch! So 3pm in the afternoon, no food yet all day and onto my 4th gram of stuff for a non-smoker and i realised how stupid i'd been! All these trips to the Dam and i always build up my tolerance slowly over the first day and a half before caning it - i guess this time excitement got the better of me!

After leaving Dave, the 100% priority was to get some food inside me, so i followed Dave's reccomendation and went to the Lemongrass Wok - the sweet and sour sauce is a killer and the food is all freshly prepared - top place. I was now feeling much better so a trip to the Albert Heijn on the Haarlemerstraat to stock up on supplies and then back to the apartment - or so i thought. That bloody map on the wall just wouldn't come back in my memory and i spent nearly an hour wandering round up and down streets, u-turning etc till i found the apartment - what made it worse is that i was carrying two bags worth of shopping) Suitably shattered i smoked up the rest of the weed from De Kuil and the Parvati Cream, which was really nice and creamy (Ronseal style).

About 8pm, i headed out again to watch the Champions League game (this time with a scribbled version of the apartment map in my back pocket!) A quick stop off at Homegrown Fantasy, where i bought some Cheese (thanks for the heads-up ACD-ers), before watching the Liverpool-Atletico game in The Smoking Bull - nice atmosphere, good beer, decent game. I enjoyed the Cheese so much i bought another gram after then headed back on the long walk to the apartment for a long, long sleep!

Thanks for the replies guys.

Day 2 - Thursday:

Thursday started suprisingly early for me with an 11am wake-up. When in the Dam i always wake up by 10am to make the most of my time there (i can sleep back at home) but Day2 is always the exception! Wednesdays trip to AH proved to be a wise move as i poured myself an orange juice and toasted up some toasties with ham, cheese and streaky bacon - yum. They were followed by a steaming hot cup of tea and a spliff of last nights Cheese - still excellent the morning after (unlike some of my ex-girlfriends!)

So, up and out and my first stop was Frederics Bike hire shop. I managed to hire a pretty good 3-speed bike for 20 euros for 3 days - i blended in on this bike, unlike last trip on my bright red mac-bike with the huge "i'm a tourist" sign on the front! This was much better. Now, a bike in amsterdam allows you to reach the further-out places so my first cycle was out to one of my favourite coffeeshops, Paradox. I love this shop cause its not tourist-oriented one jot - it's like a friendly, local coffeeshop and they don't try to be what they're not. I greeted the budtender, who recognised me from my last few visits - he also knew i wanted a banana milkshake - how good a memory is that for a stoner? I bought 3g of the bio haze for 14E - i often buy this as its a really nice smooth and tasty smoke, but not very strong, so I use it as a mixer, especially with hash to reduce the amount of tobacco needed. The guy also recommended the Purple Haze. I was reluctant cause i've been disappointed with it elsewhere in the Dam in the past, but he said this was the first time they've had any for ages, they stopped having it cause it was poor, but this batch is amazing - so i bought a gram. I settled in to smoke for a while, reading a couple of chapters of my book. The bio haze was lovely as usual and i have to say the Purple Haze was nice, too - i wouldn't quite say 'amazing' but i couldn't complain.

From Paradox, i headed to Grey Area, which was rammed - tables full and a queue almost out the door. I waited patiently and then bought some Chocolope and some Recon. Obviously not staying at GA due to the lack of oxygen, i jumped on my bike again and cycled down to Rembrantsplein, where i had a Subway tea, followed by a visit to Greenhouse Namaste. Despite the turnstile, which i found a bit wierd on my first visit, i've really grown to like this place - The Greenhouse's all have excellent weed and hash and in a funny way, it doesn't feel too commercial, like Grasshopper, Bulldog etc even though it is a chain - each shop seems to have its own unique identity. Anyway, i bought some Strawberry Haze, which i usually buy and really like for the sweet taste and the slow but continual high, and then stayed and smoked some of that. Once my reefer had confirmed that is was as good as always, i bought another gram and set on my way.

With the night drawing in and the weather taking a turn for the worse, I headed back to the apartment via Stix to pick up 3g of the most awesome Temple Balls - since i discovered it a few years back, i always buy it, i always get it from Stix and it's always lovely and squidgy soft and spicy. On the cycle back from Stix i realised i was carrying more than 5g but the thought quickly washed over my head - which policeman is gonna stop a guy cycling along serenely in the rain?. Returning to the lovely warm apartment i felt my tolerance level was now up, so i stayed up till 3am, watching TV, listening to tunes and smoking up my stash from the day. The Chocolope was very good, as you'd expect. The Recon was strong, both in taste and high and had a bit of a hit, but it wasn't my cup of tea for some reason - i wouldn't say it was poor, just not stand-out. The Temple Balls, as always was delicious and mixed with the Strawberry Haze and a little sprinkling of baccy makes the most perfect cocktail!
