Forgot to mention the book was Phil Lesh's Biography, five hours and change in length, lasted me a shift. Would have took me a week to fit in around work and sleep ( and the third season of Homicide ) Iit think there is a placee for Audio Books....but keep it quiet, smart people will revolt!

Yeah audio books have there uses, problem is I sometimes forget to listen and then have no idea about what's going on

I have the book Doors Open, by Ian Rankin. Its fun reading books that are set in Auld Reekie.

i cant remeber if i put this in this thread or not already, but

my favouirte book shop in the world is located on the road in between basjoe/bagheera and green place.

its a 2 for 1 swap bookshop, run by a cool older american chap. its all english language books, and has a british history section to rival any book shopin england. thats the section i look for, so cant comment on the other sections. every time i go, i bring a book to swap with him. there usually no other customers, he's always reading, and is always really interested to know wat im reading. truelly a brilliant shop

currently reading 'London' the biography by Peter Akroyd.

a wonderfull full history of london from saxon times to end of the 20th century. my favouirte thing is to learn about all he continuation thats happened in london, certain streets have followed the same paths for a thousand years, and certain areas have maintained the same atmospheres/industries etc for hundreds of years.

also the biggets book ive ever read, 820 pages!!!

Not reading a specific book, however, technology has advanced forward enough it's reached a point where I want to upgrade my PC. The tower unit I had lasted a good 7 years but is now sitting in the attack collecting dust as it was doing strange things and had to go. As a result, I went out and bought a laptop but it's slow with video edting and is only filling in a gap until I properly upgrade, but have to jump on the band waggon at some stage and buy a top PC, otherwise I'll be waiting for ever.

Do I need the latest Thunderbolt technology or not, I still don't know and working out if this is the right route to take or not. Technical geeky stuff I know, but that's what I'm reading about. (motherboards, RAM, graphics cards, cases, cooling, hard drive/raid array, etc) - yawn, lol

Nice one "cisco", the author was "Stuart MacBride"... and it sounds like you've got the first one in the series "Cold Granite", which means if you like it, you'll get the full benefit of the character development (superb!!) as you read the next and the next!!
Any other people out there that likes their crime drama, 'no holds barred', will love this...that's my claim!! Nobody that has passed these books around in my circle of family and friends has said nothing less than glowing about them...
I'm sure there's a good reason "Stuart MacBride's" work isn't on TV, or on to the big screen, ....i just can't think of it....

'The Winds of Dune', Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson....not bad if ya like the "Dune" series.
'The Game of Thrones', George R R Martin....Getting a bit more depth on the TV show.
The Pilot's Handbook of Areonautical Knowledge, Learning to Fly Helicopters, The Helicopter Pilot's Manual, Volume 1: Principles of Flight and Helicopter Handling...gripping stuff but not much of a storyline.
