had a great time but have never walked so much in my life,we found a coffeeshop i loved on the first day(barneys)(irish geezer)but becouse we were so stoned when we left there to head to another shop we couldnt remember where the hell it was, just that there was a canal in front ov it lol and it took approx 10 mins to walk to smokeys,so we spent the nxt 2 days walking around in circles tryng to find it even asking people but nobody knew so i thought i must of got the name wrong,as soon as i got back checked on this site and there it was so i know i wasnt going crazy, overall had a great time and all the walking must of done me some good

No matter how much walking you do away from Amsterdam nothing quite prepares you for pounding those cobblestones, the best way to get around is by bike failing that use the trams, they make a 30/40 minute journey into a 5/10 minute one.

me too!

i dont know about u but having to watch out for ppl, bikes, cars, trams and buses at stoned walking speed is enough! Trying to process that same info at a faster speed, like on a bike just wouldnt be good for me! or the ppl/vehicals i hit!

i think thats why they only give u the tourist hire bikes, coz there bright and locals will know to give u space!!!

you know what... that makes sense.

ive always contemplated getting a bike, and i always thought, getting a bright red mac bike or other obviously rented bike would be embarrasing.

but obviously beng a touirist, might make others pass you by that extra foot or two. good idea.

I think if I hired a bike I'd make sure i was insured to the max.
Cos I'm usually that blasted , Iknow it would end in tears.
Na, trams for me. Let someone else do the driving.
