Sample coffeeshop itinerary

Howdy all!
We're heading to the Dam later this month. Our hotel is down by the Albert Cuyp area, so here's what we're thinking:
First stop: Katsu
Second stop: Media
Third stop: Little
Fourth stop: Mellow Yellow
After that we've got tix for a show at the Paradiso.
Here's a couple of questions for you vets out there:
Do you have any other coffeeshops in the Cuyp area that you'd recommend?
Is the Paradiso weed-friendly?
We're mainly interested in the Sativa "up" sort of high. Which shop's got the best this month?
How safe is it to walk around Amsterdam after dark?
Thanks for any help.
Cheers.

I've only been to Katsu and Club Media, but someone recently posted about De Graal in a trip report.

I was there before the smoking ban, and it was. I've read they will have a place where you can smoke grass. Try searching the site on this one. It's a great venue for music. Enjoy.

Mellow Yellow's SSH seems to be a consistent winner.

You might have some people hassle you in the RLD. I've heard of a couple of attempted muggings, but I wouldn't worry about it.

ACD is a great source of info for you. The info you get here in for the most part accurate. Try to remember that dealers have bad days like the rest of us so service and atmosphere can very some but you will find few( i know there are some) shops that consistenly get bad reviews. In my limited exp. i had no trouble walking around at night, just dont be stupid about it, pay attention to whats going on around you and have a good idea of where youre going. Dont limit yourself to a strict schedual you never know what youll find just roaming the centrum. Hope you have a great time and looking forward to a trip report.

I've selected weed details hit and miss, only for the fact that the batches of weed and quality can change by the day, so it's only up to date at that moment.
That being said, the views are generally objective, although they will always be entirely subjective

Thanks for the feedback all!
We'll be in town on the 18th for barely 24 hours--so we've got to hurry. We've been in Europe for 6 months; this will be our last chance before we head back to the states and so we want to make the most of it. I hate to rush through, but this won't be much of a sight-seeing trip (might check out Van Gogh). We'll come back and do the touristy thing later.
The opportunity to sample and be selective never presents itself in the USA, so we'd like to take the opportunity to acquire a variety of good quality herb to tide us over. (Maybe even some seeds) shhh...

Thank you for the information. You have been posted on the November Whos In Town page. You can see who else may be in town during your visit. From that info you may be able to set up a meet with an Amsterdam vet or local and save a lot of time.
Have a great trip.
Enjoy

I've been to Greenhouse Tolstraat and had a very good experience with some wicked Mako Haze. It's also immediately next to a tram stop. And at the other end of Tolstraat (at the corner of Tolstraat and the Amstel) is The Taco Shop, my preferred destination for Mexican food in the 'Dam.
If you're craving Mexican, go to Greenhouse Tolstraat and mix in a visit to The Taco Shop with it.
Otherwise, it's skippable.

I've only been once, but I enjoyed Greenhouse Tolstraat. Went with Lafe a couple of years back...place was quite and the weed was good. They had Joe Cocker in concert on the flatscreen. Thanks courtjester, will check out The Taco Shop when we're in town next April.
