rembrandt centrum?

hey guys, staying at rembrandt centrum hotel soon, was wondering if anyone has stayed here and your opinions? ive heard its in a great location anyway, all ill need is some of amsterdam's finest bud and ill be happy! going by the map we're close to a few good coffeeshops.[/i]

i stayed at rembrandt centrum last year.

its in a really good location, just off of dam square, and as a result close to everything.

it is a really pleasant hotel, so nice that we felt alittle out of place. all the other guests were either corporate, or 'well off' older couples. when we turned up stoned to check in, with hooded jumpers and red eyes, we did feel a little out of place ha ha.

the room was nice, comfy beds, clean, view out onto a canal etc very nice. we smoked up in the room too, no firealarm or phone call so thats all good.

they have a resturant and bar too, but we ddint use it, even though breakfast was included, as it just wasntt our type of place.
give me a full english form a pub anyday.

I know this feeling too, lol. Thats why i use hostel.

cheers for the info mate, i too know that feeling, the last time we were at the dam we stayed at nh caransa in rembrandtsplein, couldnt fault the hotel, lovely place and lovely staff but felt slightly out of place, didnt notice any other stoner types, but hey, whats a stoner type!? did you have any "base" coffeeshops near by when you stayed? by the way, 19 trips to the dam?! good work!

Stayed in the centrum a few weeks ago, great location just off dam square. room was clean and quite large with the biggest and most comfortable bed i have ever slept in, could have got 4 people in the bed no probs. But i do have to agree with Chelsea not really my kind of place had a bit of a shock when we walked in marble floors and walls and a few people hangging around in suites a little up market for my liking. The staff were very plesant though and made us feel very welcome overall a good place to stay. enjoy your trip.

cheers mate, did you smoke in the room when you stayed? In your opinion whats the best local coffeeshop to make a base!!!?

barneys lounge is really close by.. i really enjoyed smoking in there and they have a great pita toastie. on my last trip i stayed near the rembrantsplein and this was my fav shop in the area.

rokerij and bushdoctor are close by as well.

I know what you mean! I was at the same hotel with my GF. It always felt awkward walking past the reception desk blazed out of our minds
