How was the Arjan's Ultra Haze #2? That's on my list to try while I'm there, which is in 11 days. We're not missing one another by much, too bad I would have liked to have a smoke with y'all, and I also live in Florida... not far from you.

I didn't know you could take weed back to the shop and exchange it if it wasn't up to par... cool lol

Sitting In The Bulldog...

Post by smitt052 »

Hi ...

Thanks for all the comments. It has been fun doing this. It really helps having a lap top. Okay to answer some questions:

How was the Arjan's Ultra Haze #2? That's on my list to try while I'm there, which is in 11 days. We're not missing one another by much, too bad I would have liked to have a smoke with y'all, and I also live in Florida... not far from you.
I really enjoyed it. It was kind of spacey, but that wore off quick and a nice buzz followed. I should say all weed is awesome compared to where we come from, so it's ALL good. I had been really looking forward to trying this one so...

Too bad we will miss you. It's always fun to meet someone half way round the world when you live just down the street. But I will enjoy your trip report.
Returning weed? the thought never occured to me.
Ok, just to clarify...this only happened because my friend works at the hotel that runs the coffeeshop I got the weed at. If I (or you) took it back and asked for an exchange they would have just laughed in our face.

Well, today was a total blow off day. If you can believe it, I have not stepped foot in a coffeeshop all day. We hung out at the apartment till mid day, then headed down to the flower market. We were planning to stop at the market, but the one by our place is closed on Sunday's come to find out. So we went out, and then headed home to smoke. I will say having your own place has put a new twist on smoking.

One day on every trip to Amsterdam we set aside for mushrooms. I was really wondering if that was going to happen this year, with the proposed change in law. However, things have not seemingly changed too much on that level. I would say the smoking ban has had a MUCH larger effect on things.

So today was to be our mushroom day. I headed down to the Centrum early by myself, and went to the Bulldog Energy to pick them up. I know it's surprising, but we have always had really good experiences with their mushrooms. It was 36 euro for 2 boxes of Hawaiians or 'Blue Meanies'. Also made a quick stop at our 'local' coffeeshop The Stud and picked up 2 grams of White Widow for 10 euro. By the way the weed and hash is much cheaper the further out of the Centrum you go.

When I returned my partner had went to the Market and was making lunch. After lunch we waited about an hour than took our mushrooms. And it rained...and rained. We spent the whole rest of the day having a restful, warm day trip (that lasted about 7 to 8 hours).

Nice. I agree having your own apartment does change things. For me it makes it much easier to sleep in as well as smoke in. Thanks for the report Smitt.

Today we set of around 10:00 heading for Sarah's Pancake house. We arrived at a good time (just as it was starting to rain). We had ham & cheese pancakes and hot chocolate. I must say that everything was only okay. The pancake was good (I have had better) but the hot chocolate was unfortunate, and I needed to put sugar and cream in it just to be drinkable. Still it was something to cross off my list.
After breakfast we walked over to Popeye's. There we purchased 1 gram of Pink Kush for 15 euro and 1 gram of Alladin's Chocolate also at 15 euro. 3 euro each for hot chocomel and it was a 36 euro stop. It was nice however and the weed and hash was good, and it had just started to rain so it was nice to get out of that. Also the Manager gave me a huge hit off his hookah. I was disappointed that they do not have wi-fi, as has been the case in quite a few of the coffee shops, the Bulldogs being an exception.
Anyway we went down to Wormeostrat so we could do some shopping. I love Geels & Co. coffee and have some shipped home every trip. Well, after as we were on our way back to the tram stop I was attacked by a seemingly homeless person. He started after us yelling "Hey...where are you from?" We both tried to ignore him (perhaps he would figure we didn't understand him) but he grabbed me by the shoulder. I turned around and said something like "Leave me alone" So now he knew I spoke English, so he started in with saying all kinds of odd things, and then he hit me with something like a hard bean bag on a string. At that point I started after him and he ran, and I just let it go. The whole moment was very odd. That street is so seedy, sometimes I really hate going down there.
Well after that we just rode the tram back to the apartment and had a smoke and a nap. Later we went to our friends house for a traditional Dutch dinner. It was so good. It was like mashed potatoes with kale, the best tasting huge meatball I have ever had, with a gravy and covered with crisp bacon pieces . Sorry but I still can't pronounce the name of it.
So after dinner we all light up a joint and enjoyed some 'american tv'. It was not long before I was passing out on the comfy couch with a cat sleeping on my lap.
Later some friends stopped by and one of them pulled out of his backpack a freezer bag of weed...and he just gave some to us. It was so cool. We had to leave soon after, or we would miss the last tram and be forced to pay like 25 euro for a taxi. But it was all good, and we got a good nights sleep. Now is our last day so...thanks to our weed friend we might not be hitting too many more coffee shops.

A continuing good read. I like your photos. Something about them ...

The lovely food is pronounced Stam-pot. At least that's how I pronounce it.

Cheers. Thanks for sharing,
chuck.

Nice reporting again. Popeye's 5g/E45 Super Silver Haze might be worth a go.
