Bringing coffee back?

Post by Dave J »

Yes and I DO mean coffee. Both me and the gf love our coffee and I'd really like to bring 2 or 3 packs back with me depending on if I like the looks of what I can find.

But I'm rather concerned that my case getting x-rayed might leave customs thinking I'm stupid enough to put a couple of kg's of hash in my case and have it ripped apart!. So would bringing coffee back in my case be a stupid idea or would it be best to mention it at check-in to ensure my case dont go missing by the other end?.

the missus brought back some last time, she was advised by the ba desk on the way out to put it in her hand luggage and just make sue it wasnt opened!
they xrayed the bag at the gate and didnt even ask to check, from what i remember, its only meats and certain veg u cant travel with, coffee is sterilised in the unopened packet so its fine!

oh my old man has just said its fine! he travels all the time and said he brings his cart noir with him without issues!!

Have a look around the net, from what I can see coffee doesn't hide any illegal drug smells from dogs so why would customs even care?
