Hi from Kansas

Post by extremepain »

Hi my name is Dave. I was glad to find this site, since my oldest son and I are going to be in Amsterdam January 4th thru the 8th, then on to Paris. I want to learn as much as I can about the coffeehouses, and best bud finds.

As a disabled artist, I am also going to be absorbing all the Art and Architecture I can. Any other places to see or short day trip advice would be very appreciated. I want to see a beach or 2 on the North Sea even though it will be dead cold. (My son has never seen an ocean, plus its another ocean I can add to my list too!)

I would like to thank the board, and all on here that welcome me.

Thanks a bunch -dave

Welcome to the forum.

I have posted you on the January Whos In Town page. You can see who else may be in town during your visit. Have a great trip.

For a nice day or even partial day trip you can visit Haarlem. It's a 7 euro 15 minute train ride from Amsterdam Centraal Station.

Enjoy

That phrase made have to post this link.

How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.

Lots of excellent information presented as an enjoyable read. S G Collins is a great wordsmith.

Enjoy

Welcome Dave, I lived in Kansas many moons ago. I live in Amsterdam with Dorothy ant Toto now. It's a little different. You will love Oz. I do a thing called Ganja Tours and do beach trips. All tours include the best cannabis products in Holland.

The ACD has all the info you need for your trip.

cheers,

mh

What a warm welcome, thanks! I am so looking forward to my trip to Amsterdam. In addition to being a conisseur of the cannabis, I am also a huge art junkie, and I cannot wait to see the Van Goghs and Rembrandts. (cant hurt to see Vincent's work with a nice sativa up buzz)

Welcome. I'd recommend the Van Gogh Museum on Friday nights. They have DJs and drinks in the lobby and stay open until 22:00. It's quite fun, but a little more crowded than in the day time during the week. I think the Stedelijk won't open until December, 2009. But you'll be able to see some of the collection around town in various exhibitions.

I suppose your son will see plenty of ocean while you fly over it, and have fun
