I've found the best way for me was to break some habits, loved to sit on the patio in early a:m w/coffee and smoke cig. so had coffee in kitchen for a few eeks, those sort of things.

Like Twitch says, changing the routine is the key - as it's a mental habit you have to break, the physical side of things are gone within a few days to a week, so it's all in yer head... change the way you do things isn't easy, I rarely leave the house without a roll up in my hand to light as I walk somewhere, same when I go to leave anywhere, I make "one for the road" ... what am I gonna do? Not go anywhere??

You know I never experianced any trouble quitting as I knew I was done with it, the same with booze - I was an everyday drinker who was just drinking for the sake of it, I decided enough was enough and I now just have a drink on a friday/saturday night and I can't drink anywhere near what I used to.

I used to be a drinker too, drinking just for the sake of it, but not anymore. I can go weeks without drinking now- again, psychological for me.
One day I evaluated that I did not enjoy what I was doing, so stopped drinking compulsively.
