An Amsterdam Trip...Information needed please :)

Post by samson83 »

Hi Everyone,

In January i will be going back to Amsterdam (my second visit) the first time around i stayed at a camp site in the summer and hired some bikes with my friends and visited the main tourist attractions and also the coffee shops.
Had an amazing time hence my second visit.

However i feel i would like to go with more information this time around and was wondering first off.

1- How the smoking ban has now effected coffee shops? can i still smoke and which are the best coffee shops with smoking areas ?

2- I hear that different types of weed are best for different times of the day...i.e make you feel more energetic as opposed to lethargic. Which ones for morning afternoon and evening would you suggest??

3- Any other tips you think would be a great help to me on this second visit, i have the map from this website with the coffee shops but would like your feedback on the most friendly/chilled out.

Thanks for your time and hope to hear from you soon

Sam :D

Hi mate when in January are you going? Ill be there from the 29th Jan - 2nd Feb, if your there at the same time might meet up for a smoke?

I can only answer the question about the weed for a morning/afternoon smoke its best to go for a sativa. Try a haze strain. Last time i was in dam i was knackered and had some Cheese and it woke me up :D

For the evening try a indica something like LA Confidential, last time i had this at the end of every night and i was out for the count after the first joint :P

I dont really stick to either at anytime if i see something i like on the menu ill get it regardless. I find if ive had a good feed, and have a loosa etc when im smoking I can last all day.

Have fun!

1: See this thread https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5605
2: A lot of people go for Sativas/Hazes during the dat and then indicas later on.
3: Hire a bike if you feel confident enough, go for a tourist one like Mac Bikes so people know you're a tourist and you're not used to it.

To your first question....

Most coffeeshops offer a Tobacco replacement at the bar or on each table. It is a bit like the sugar cup in a non dutch coffee shop... :D
For me it is even better than before, as non cigarette smoker. If you do not like that replacement, ask when you enter. Some CSs allow smoking Tobacco if you hide it. As we should not get them into trouble I won't mention this names now.

But the point is.... don't worry! Nothing has really changed.
