November 13-November 17 Trip Report: Day 2

Another day and more buds to find. Not as good weather as yesterday but who cares, a cloudy day in Amsterdam is better than a sunny day at home. Im at the Dampkring for opening time and another round of primo haze with the Shiboni. This morning would be Nevils Haze, which would prove to be this years favorite smoke from the Dampkring. (Slightly disappointed in not seeing any Mexican Haze on thier menu as that was a favorite from last year.

Next was a stop at the Bluebird, which I am sorry to say was disappointing. The Bluebird is a sentimental favorite of mine as I have been coming here since the early 90's and I hate to see what has happened to it. Gone is the book menu for one thing, and the piece of NY Diesel I received was anything but Amsterdam quality. The people that work there give the impression that they just dont care. Then I see my fav spot by the window in the couch side of the room is now the tobacco area. Damn shame. I'll come back here for old times sake but it just isnt the same as it used to be.

Always try to hit a few new spots on any trip so I decided to stop in on the Old Church and was glad I did. This is a place Ive of course passed hundreds of times but for some reason never stopped in. Greeted by a friendly staff and a nice smoke of Blueberry. Will try to come back, want to see the view from upstairs. Still cant believe Ive never come in here before.

Next it was over to Haarlemerstraat area to check out the new Dampkring. Last years trip it was the same as when it was Pink Floyd, just using the Dampkring menu. I like what they have done to the place, too bad it isnt just a little bigger. It was crowded but found a seat downstairs, enjoyed the Mako Haze and the sight of the beautiful blond girl making coffee.

Time for a snack of frites with mayo on Voetboogstraat (always) and I went back to the room for a little while to chill out before a planned meet I had at 8pm at Abraxas with someone from this board.

At the appointed time I was sitting by the front door of Abraxas rolling some Lemon Amnesia and waiting. 3 joints and 90 minutes later I left with no meet. It was too bad as it was the first meet I set up on this board and was looking foward to it. At this point I cant fault the guy much as he was supposed to be landing that night at 1830 and hoped to be at Abraxas in 90 min. Anything can happen. Hope to make contact to find out.

After a walk over to the Leidseplein area I went in to try some more Lemon Skunk at the Rokerij, but it was not quite as good as the piece I got the day before at II.

The rest of the evening was spent walking and smoking, stopping here and there for a drink and a smoke as I had many joints rolled up in my pocket and had no need to purchase again until tomorrow.

Nice report.

Too bad about the Bluebird. My first ever smoke in A'dam was NYC diesel in the Bluebird circa 2003. Best weed I'd ever smoked in my life at that point.

Old Church is selling 1.2 grams of Blueberry for E14?

Glad you were understanding about your first meet going bust. My first meet, some stuff happened that nearly exploded the forum, so it could be worse.

I am pretty sure my memory is correct on the Blueberry price at the Old Church, but I could be wrong. As far as the meet, coming right from the airport made me forgiving on that, I hope he made it in that night.
