Medical Cannabis and IBS

my brother is completely against cannabis use like most uninformed people. he has had a very bad case of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) for many years and one of the medicinal uses of cannabis is for gastrointestinal disorders. hes very intelligent but just doesnt understand how pot could help. even if hes against smoking i know hes not against brownies, and id be glad to whip him up a batch. i know there is plenty of legit information out there to show such as Americans for Safe Access, but i was wondering if anyone had any idea of how i could approach the topic with him. hes a mature guys in his 30's with a wife and kids, but the IBS can really control his life sometimes. id like to help him any ideas would be cool, thanx.

A very good film called waiting to inhale is available to stream on google video and http://www.movie-forumz.org Which shows sufferers from a variety of illness's and how their condition improves after using MJ. It has explicit scenes showing before and after, testimony from users and medical professinals.

Sometimes showing visual examples is better than verbal explanation to the prove a point or suggest something. Hearing testimonals from a medical MJ user and seeing them on camara may be more persuaive than the 'stoner brother.'

thanx for that sir niall, ill be sure to check out the film. and he is the older brother so he was usually the one torturing me. i did think about just giving him brownies and sayin the wife made it for them or whatever but id rather he know whats goin on maybe the film will help, peace.

maybe go to one of the medical centres in california or wherever there is one near you, I dont know that much about the situation in your country

unfortunately only california has cannabis dispensaries, and we live on the east coast so thats a cross country flight, kinda impossible. there are 12 other medical MJ states but NY isnt one of them yet, and none have official ways of getting pot except growing it. thanx for the advice

Whats his wifes views on mj?His IBS problems would naturally affect her life,maybe you could spike his cookies through her...

i think she is just as uninformed, but am not sure, to her MJ is probably a "drug" like all the rest, they cant differentiate, uphill battle it seems. but she might be more receptive to the idea, and she always cooks up a storm, so a batch of cookies or whatever wouldnt be suspicious.

It would be worth a try...I used to live with a woman who had IBS,and she wasn't much fun to be around when suffering badly,but she found herself more able to cope with it after smoking some of that sweet MaryJane...
