Day 1 - Thursday 20th Nov

Stansted to schipnol, 1 hour flight, land at 16.30 - train to central about 20mins but felt like 4 minutes...walked to the greenhouse centrum instead of greehouse effect, wasting 20 odd mins, bit of map checking and we finally found it. Whilst checking in I took advantage of the resident discount, NYC diesel 13e down to 11e, first smoke of the hols purchased. I asked the budtender what the deal is with baccy and she says just keep the fags of the table and your cool, sweet wasn't gonna roll one in there anyway but at least i knew now. Got to apartment on Nes, lots of tight stairs as expected, first impressions were, got what we paid for...not too bad not too great. First things first, lets try the Diesel, very herby taste, put a smile on my face within minutes, lovely sativa-type that got me in the mood for our first night. Its always shit when you get to your holiday destination after whats practically half a days travelling and your too tired to go out and enjoy yourself properly and basically lose a day....not with NYC Diesel!!! One mate, Jon, had 3 or 4 puffs and was already in the swing of things my other pal Sam was resisting (who is one of my best back in the day smoking buddies until he got a girlfriend and quit) so i said "just take one pull", so he did to my disappointment... "i didnt mean literally u twat" so he took two more dragon pulls, 10 minutes later hes giggling and grinning at me as if to say "I'm back you bastard!!" hahaha

Shower, change, ACD Map....lets go...im with two newbies and although this is my 7th trip i easily get lost in dam so we head off from Nes towards Damstraat and end up doing a series of square loops until we end up back where we started. From here we find an italian restaurant which basically looked like all the other 'steakhouses' 'pizzerias' etc but to my surprise was the best meal of the weekend. Asked for a Penne with napoli sauce and chicken which wasn't on the menu, 8.50e which i thought was a bargain, mates had; spag bol and lasagne...all pleased. Now time for some drinking and smoking..we take a little stroll and realise we are back on the warmoestraat, so we look for a bar where we can smoke. We go in a bar called Big shots i think which was absolutely empty but was cool with us to start with, they had setanta sports on which was mentally noted for the weekends football, we order 3 heinekens and I get the Diesel out...no skins, shit. None behind the bar so its the perfect excuse to buy some more bud (i didnt think to just go buy a pack of papers lol) so me and Sam head to the GHE where we get discount. Sam gets 1grm Super Silver Haze @ 14e per grm and 2.3gr of Zero Zero @ 4.5e per grm, after discount total works out at 22e. I go for Big Red @ 8.50 per grm for later, budtender recognises me and as i had discount earlier and sam got a discount just before me she does me a 1.3grm for 8e. We realise rinsing out the discounts needs to be done on single deals really...anyways it all good, we head back to the bar. I personally like to have a spliff to myself but as it was our first night, whilst getting pissed, i was feeling the puff puff pass with my buddies so i roll a fat NYC diesel, sam a SSH and Jon a Zero Zero. The SSH just gets us going again on top of the Diesel, a few more pints and we are like a bunch of giggly schoolkids, great time so far and the bar has suddenly got packed out. More spliffs and another round of beer, Jons round this time and the price has gone from 10.50e to 15e for 3 beers...bad luck Jon lol, we were at the end of happy hour which we didnt even realise was on, so last round before we head off. Was a good thing really as the music was fecking awful. Theres half a zero zero in the tray so i polish that off which was quite pleasant to be honest as i dont really smoke hash and it went down quite well with the beer. We go to GHE where we get discount on beer too, sweeeet, 1.60e half a pint!!! shit we've been paying through the nose just literally up the road. We later realise that 5-6e a pint is not bad compared to other places...thats another day to come though . We have another spliff of the NYC and the SSH and a couple of half pints before closing. Its now about 1am and I am very very merry and looking forward to gracing the sofa with my fat ass...we head to the apartment without getting lost, although it is only at the end of the street, stumble up the stairs and start to polish off whats left apart from the zero zero which didnt get touched for the rest of the holiday for no particular reason, I also make a dent in the Big Red. To be honest I cant remember how good/bad the SSH was, everything was complimenting the beer and the joints were going round like the magic roundabout, the Diesel was really really nice, the Big Red was okay too got me to sleepy mode quite well. Day 1 complete, i've not done one thing on my hitlist yet but who cares theres always tomorrow, its about 3am and my alarm is set for 9.30am to meet my friend Chris at Central station, not looking forward to being woken by my phone but hey cest la vie, at least im going to bed with a massive grin on my face.

Day 2 to follow, with first night of raving.

Day 2

Woken by a text message "all flights to dam cancelled, bell you later"...i thought, beautiful, wonderful, extra sleep "Talk to me".. (fonjackers terry tibbs for those that dont know) lol so back to sleep for a bit before getting up properly. Wake n Bake with a Big-Red zoot, really wanted to get some sativas for the morning but most greenage from a*dam will do the trick and the Big-Red was sufficient. So we are finally up and decide to go to the supermarket near dam square for some supplies. Supermarket is found with ease, basket each and the 3 of us part ways into this well lit space full of munchies, blinded by the lights, i smell coffee...mmm cofffeeeee, theres a woman giving away free samples of coffee, lovely jubbly, couple of those and i perk up a bit and start filling my basket. The 3 of us bump into each other in the crisps section (someones report mentioned bugles, thankyou!!! they are the ultimate stoner-munch), then the cake section, then the sandwich making section, i.e. ham and cheeses. We are all sorted apart from drinks, we get milk, tea, coffee, water all the essentials then its the beer section. theres a pack of 6 heinekens for 4e, not bad, 12 for 6e even better, that'll do, round the corner its the crate section crate of 24 bottles of Heineken for 8.40e.. Bargain!!!! thats shopping sorted...oh wait toilet paper!! Someone was conscious enough to remember our apartment had no loo roll so quick run back through the ailses and the paper is located. What type of accommodation comes with no bog roll, okay we are self catering but that was taking the piss. Anyways, I get the short straw and have to carry the crate of beer home, not such a good idea now but fuck it, had to be done. As im falling up the billion 2 inch wide and half a cm long steps to our apartment with a crate of beer, the cleaner pops his head out from one of the apartments below us, "you need these" its two rolls of toilet paper...yeah cheers mate, ive been holding a shit in since 3am, its now 12.30pm! So we go from no rolls to 6 rolls and all this rolling is making me wanna roll some proper shit Another big red and theres about a spliff left for later, im pretty stoned now and i get the text from Chris saying still delayed can you get my rave ticket from the Melkweg. Bollox, Chris was a late addition and hadn't got a ticket for the rave, there was a limited 150 left on the door so our next mission was chosen for us. Quick sandwich each and a bowl of cereals, more coffee and we are now off to find the melkweg.

We decide to get a tram so jump on the side of one, and forget to pay, we realise mid stop and Jon gets panicky about not paying and at the next stop freaks out and runs off the tram, me and sam are pissing ourselves but follow. The tram pulls away and we are now walking, what the fuck that was about i dont know but we are in fits of laughter from it. Another tram pulls up so we get on the front and try to pay, the driver points us to the small ticket desk in the middle of the tram which the one before didnt have..lol so we eventually pay and get off 10 mins later where we think the melkweg is. Now ive plotted the location of the club on my ACD map so we are following my directions but ive sort of mis-calculated it a tad and we are now lost. I had it down as near the Sanementereng, that mad one with all the nicknacks so had secretly wanted to go there as soon as we got the ticket, we ask a few people and its actually near the bulldog palace...d'oh. We get the rave ticket, start walking towards Central Station and i see Dolphins coffeeshop....Hallelujah. This is a must for me, so we go in, get a coffee each, i get a gram of White Dolphin for 10e and head downstairs, without spilling my drink we grab a sofa section, I wrap a WD spliff up and we chill for an hour. The Dolphin was pretty good, was prepackaged, came in one bud which was nice, a good smoke that got me lean whilst trying to watch a film in silence with dutch subtitles....hmmm. My mind was wandering and i was thinking about the Greenplace and Grey Area, i was determined to go there at some point on my trip but could barely move from the sofas, very comfy. Phone rings, its Chris, ive landed, waiting for a train. So we knew we had 20 mins to get to Central. Phone rings again its my pals Scott and Al, they've just got to Central Station via different flights, and are heading for the nearest CS. We walk to Central Station from Dolphins successfully, greet Chris, phone the others and head to Route 99 where they are plotting up for a bit. Hold on, they are two people down, whats happened? The two girls that were coming with them were still at customs, one had lost their passport between airports and was likely to get deported, plus they had the reservation details of the apartment they were staying in, Shiiiittt! Still Scott and Al didnt care at the time, they'd got a bag of Orange bud each and Scott got some Crimera Blue and looked suitably stoned. I popped downstairs to the counter and got some Crystal for 12e. I remember all the deals coming in 12e quantities, but cant remember the weight, i think it was around 1.5 - 1.6. Had a spliff of that, very nice with a good kick, was very crystally but honestly cant remember it being amazing, just nice....what was up with me i was stoned one minute, high the next but nothing was playing the drums on my tastebuds. Scott turned round to me and said try this, the Crimera Blue....very nice, i only had a couple of puffs but you could taste the slight fruitiness in it,that was his strain of the trip. I wanted to roll one for myself as i prefer my own spliffs, i do the backwards roll and find it changes the spliff for the better but soon forgot about it. With nowhere to go we invite the others to ours to dump their bags off for a bit and have a beer and a spliff. I show Chris our room and our "ample storage space" which was the bedroom description on the internet, haha we had a mashed up, pissed standalone clothes rail with 3 hangers and that was it. Few spliffs and beers later everyone suddenly starts staring at me, pointing and shouting "what the fuck" i freak out and fly out of my chair, "WHAT?!!??!" its a frigging mouse running behind my head on a shelve...sweet this place comes with pets lol...ah well it was fairly cheap. After that excitement, Scott and Al leave looking for a hotel and we start to get ready for the Rave; Innovation in the Dam Drum and Bass dance event.

We get a cab there as its been raining, hailing, snowing the lot. The cabbie drops us off outside bulldog palace for 9e and points in a direction then drives off, "what direction did he point to?" "fuck knows" ...we get fucking lost again!!! I cant believe we get a cab to the club and still get lost!! We were even there in the daytime, its unbelievable jeff!! I grab a burger from BK then we notice a load of ravers doing the same so we follow them to the club...it was literally round the corner but we kept going round the wrong corner...anyways we made it. Its 11pm, no queue, no search now thats what i call a club. Dj SS is on, we grab a drink, 5e pint of heineken and settle in amongst the 1000s of ravers, system is banging and im starting to feel the vibe. Short while later we bump into Scott and Al and the girls, they'd made it past the airport, phew. Quick chat to the girls about their ordeal, look round at Al and Scott..their off their tits!!! apparently Scott had been on the gear since route 99 and Al...well Al is just Al hes always buzzing after midnight on the weekend, he had a few bombs of Mandy (MDMA) and so had Scott. Hmmmmmm i hadn't really thought about getting on it but was now contemplating it..the thought soon left my head though as i was getting a bit typsy. A short while later, Al puts a bomb in my hand and has a frightened look in his eyes..."eat it before i do"...well ive gotta take one for the team i suppose so down it goes. Not long later Chris, Jon and Sam are doing the should I, shouldn't I, as the pill dealers are walking about. One after another they ask me if im gonna do one, i tell em about the Mandy AL gave me for nothing and that makes the decision for them. Chris gets one and gives me half...sweet, Sam does the same...jon does his own thing. So within 20 minutes ive done a bomb of mandy and two half star treks all for free and i haven't even bought a round yet lol. A couple more beers and me and Scott go hunting for the smoking room. We find it with ease...just follow the ganja trail I roll a Crystal spliff and Scott is still smoking the Crimera Blue which he is still banging on about, spliffs always taste real good in a nightclub as you get whiffs of other joints teasing your nose all night. At this point my body doesnt know what to do, am i pissed, stoned, coming up....i just feel a bit fidgety and weird but still enjoying the bud and the atmosphere.....spliff finished we head to the dancefloor, the bass is thumping through me like a hammer as we get closer and closer...we walk through the crowds to a nice spot in the middle and the laser beams are playing tricks with my eyes, a big tune comes in, bassline drops and BANG!! Ive come up like a good'un... Everythings kicked in at once and from this point it all sort of merges into one long progressive buzz....then Andy C comes on and absolutely tears up the dancefloor, everyone, all 1500+ people are buzzing and jiggling around like...well like a bunch of nutters..what a great set! From this point till about 5am i am in a wonderful place..I recall being on my own for ages in the same spot near the front just mellow but high and tingly, it was one of the best buzzs id had in ages. Sam comes up to me and says Als been thrown out, i remember saying "cool" and then he walked off, a while later Jon comes up to me and says the same thing, i say "i know" he shrugs his shoulders and starts ravin it up next me, a few moments later Sam comes back in a panicky mood and says "what you doing, Als been thrown out"...me and Jon both say in unison "we know" and carry on till the decks needle had seen the last bit of vinyl. Apparently everyone was leaving as Al got thrown out for being too fucked and Sam had sent Jon in to get me after trying to get me to leave himself..lol i wasn't leaving for shit! Rave finished, we walk out with no aggro, no pushing, anything, the melkweg is officially a pukka nightclub in my books (better than last year). We get a cab back to the apartment for 20e, double what we paid going but fuck it, its to be expected i guess. We settle in front of the telly still buzzing but slowly coming down, spliff after spliff, big red finished, crystal finished, white dolphin tucked into to.....ahh spliffs on a comedown..perfect. Got to bed around 6 - 6.30 but not before a phone call from the others, Scott had left the club early which i didnt even realise and had the key to their apartment, the rest of them got home, rang him up to open the door, he came down, opened the door and SLAM. He'd let the apartment front door slam shut as he opened the main door with the key still inside...hahaha they were locked out at 6 in the morning. What a nightmare they'd had, they had to pay 50e call out charge to get let back in. With that bit of humour i was off to sleep with an even bigger grin on my face than the night before.

ive got a couple of silly snaps from inside the apartment but nothing worth uploading to be honest. I couldnt find the charger for my little sony camera so took my SLR which was too big to lug around plus it was too cold outside.

I'll ask the others if they got any.

Not as eventful as the day before but here goes;

Day 3

Today I woke at the leisurely time of about 1pm feeling good about the night before. Tonight was the second helping of raving in Amsterdam but I deliberately didn't have a ticket, neither did Chris or Jon. Sam was well up for it and had a ticket, Jon now wanted to go, I even wanted to go but my body was saying no and knew I had made the right decision not to get a ticket in advance, I’m getting too old for two nights raving till 6am in a row. So we are all up and I’m starving, Chris and I head for Centrum to get a full English breakfast, Sam and Jon head to the club to get a ticket for Jon. Jon had bumped into his ex girlfriend the night before and was now after some free pussy where as Chris was still looking forward to the RLD, me, I was looking forward to some boom weed. So we eventually get a breakfast, a Royal English for 10e something, it was okay, 3 fried eggs, loads of funny bacon, beans, toast and cocktail style sausages, did the trick but well over priced really. Now my belly has been seen to my lungs are next. We go for a walk, pass by RLD have a look at the fitties, not so fitties and the dam right ugly….you know the bit, round by old church, I had a big mama flash her tit at me whilst rattling her window like it was drum, it was okay though, I managed to keep my breakfast down lol. So after a few laps of that, few calories burned off and legs starting to feel tired, the ACD map comes out and we head for Greenplace which I have marked in myself. Get to Waag Castle and get a little lost before finding it. I recognise the location and think I have been in there once before but can’t be sure, there’s a slight queue so I wait patiently. Look at the menu and I order 1grm LA Con for 14e and 1grm Blueberry Cheese for 13e without even thinking, those two strains have been bouncing round in my mind for months, I was dying to try them. Just as I get my bud the table next to the bud counter is now free so I nip in there and start building. Chris wants something not too crazy so I tell him to get some Jack Herrer and two coffees. Now I know there’s a tobacco smoking section at the back but the table I’m on is covered in baccy so I roll up a nice fat Blueberry Cheese spliff and roll a conservative Jack Herrer for Chris who can’t roll, and we both spark them up without question. Wow the BBC is sooo tasty its just the perfect bud, its stoning my body right out whilst putting my head in a cloud, my taste buds are going crazy and I cant tear my lips away from the roach, man this was the shit I was looking for. Chris gets lean off his spliff and we enjoy our coffees whilst watching Arsenal get thrashed by Man City…the perfect afternoon. I leave the Greenplace well satisfied and I haven’t even tried the LA Con yet. We’d hammered the crate of beer last night so go to the supermarket to get another one. We soon get back to the apartment to find Jon and Sam had been to the shops as well and bought another crate, we now have 48 bottles of Heineken to drink and all I could think about was the tasty blueberry cheese. I roll another one and pass it around so everyone can experience the taste, it gets the thumbs up. From this point my arse is glued to the sofa all night, I try the LA Con, its potent, quite tasty, again like the cheese stones my body and highs my head a bit but just not distinctive enough for me, not worth the 14e per gram in my opinion, wish I had bought more blueberry cheese with the money. Come midnight Sam and Jon haven’t left yet and I am really really stoned, like deep deep stoned. Jon and Sam eventually leave for the club and me and Chris don’t intend on moving at all, after flicking through the 40 odd channels of crap a film starts, sweet. I can’t remember what film it was now but I know we’d both seen it before, 10 minutes later I was asleep. Spliff in hand, I woke up at about 3am, sparked her up and finished her off. That was the end of the BBC one of my fav strains of the trip. Chris was passed out next to me so switch the telly off and off to bed I went. I wonder how the others got on at the Kingdom Club? Apparently there were queues up until nearly 2am in the pouring rain because the security staff hadn’t turned up till 10.30pm and were searching everyone thoroughly, shoes off, metal detectors, the lot. Glad I didn’t bother now; I’d spent the day with the blueberry cheese and was happy for it.
