I'm sure I'll get judged for this one but...
I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to light up on a canal cruise. I know this sounds tacky but I obviously would be tactful and wouldn't do it with kids around or anything, but I'm going to be going on a cruise right when I get there with my bf. He's never been to the dam and I figured it would be a good way to show him the city. The cruise is an hour and a half and I KNOW I'm gonna want to sss a j while I'm on it. On their website under FAQ, it says
"Can I smoke on board?
Smoking is only allowed on our outside deck."
If I rolled a tight little joint, do you think it would be kosher to light up on their outside deck and enjoy the beautiful cruise, or is this a recipe for disaster?

Why not just take a cruise that lets you smoke.

thats not tacky, i really really wanted to do it myself.SSSaJ wrote:I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to light up on a canal cruise. I know this sounds tacky....
i imagine taking a peacfull boat tour about, chilling, smoking a j would be brilliant.
the boat trip i did was strictly no smoking and there wasnt a deck as such, so no chance.....
i think your best bet would be to charter your own boat ride. if a few of you got together, and got somewone with a small boat to take you, you may be able to do it, with permission. i doubt youll ever be able to do it, with memebrs of the public on board.
i took a canal cruise with my girlfriend in london aswell, passing through camden and other places.... i tried to ask i could smoke a j on that one, but the guy wouldnt allow cigarettes, so there was no point even asking the next question..

on my trip last february.. i had found the absolute most amazing boat rental place in amsterdam.. at least that i have been able to afford and book during my stay.
http://www.privateboattours.nl
the captains are absolutely fantastic.. there is a self serve bar on board, including some nice wines and whisky's and beer etc.
i was allowed to smoke as much as i could during the cruise, and at one point the captain even allowed me to get out and pick up some more during the ride. it was pretty funny getting dropped off by boat to pick up some green.
in february i did 2 hours during the day.. which was just amazing to see amsterdam from the water and just layed back and enjoyed the show... the captain was very knowelegable and i learned quite a bit about the city.
i also did a tour on saturday night starting at 2 AM.. and went till 3:30 AM... this was pretty cool as well, it was much colder this time around as we had no sun, but it was cool to see amsterdam at night from the water as well.
i had different captains both times, and both let me smoke as much as i wanted, and drink what i could during the cruise.
the people in the office were very helpful and they picked me up right out front of the apartment. and they can drop you off wherever you want.
also the st. nicholaas boat club allowed me to smoke on the boat ride... others with me where smoking up a storm too.. the captain could have cared less..
i have still yet to be on one of those big boat things... doesnt seem like my cup of tea.
