I open up my eyes and look at my watch, 9AM; I nearly forget I am even in Amsterdam and when I remember that I am not in the States and there is no work to go to I smile. Still adjusting to the time difference and dealing with a harsh throat from a busy first day, I make my way to the fridge and chug some water. Frank is awaking as well and I proceed to roll a Cone of Chocolope. We finish that up and we are now ready to find our English Breakfast.

Dressed for the day, we pack our daily travel bag, where we keep all our smoking paraphernalia and purchases. We head down Warmmostratt towards Dam Square and find a small Irish Bar that serves a full English. I believe the name was Saint Slater, or similar. We take a seat and wait for a while; we then realize that you need to go to the bar to place your order. I go up to the bar and order two English Breakfasts and 2 cappuccinos. Also some water for Frank and some orange juice for myself. I was a little disappointed because I didn’t get fresh OJ; he gave me a looza, but whatever I drank it. About 20 minutes later our breakfast came out: 2 eggs over easy, toast, 2 pieces of ham, 2 links of sausage, beans, fried mushrooms and tomatoes, with 2 hash browns. Breakfast was good enough and definitely hit the spot.

Our plan for the first half of the day was to head down towards the Albert Cuyp market. We proceeded to Dam Square, where we went into a small souveniour store to buy a 15 strip of stripeenkarts to ride the tram. This worked out to be exactly what we needed for the entire trip. I think it only costed about 8 euro. 2 stripenncarts are required for each zone you travel; but in Amsterdam you only travel about 1 zone wherever you go (or at least where we went) Before we got on the tram we also stocked up on some essentials: Juicy Jay rolling papers, orange and mango, double Platinum Blunt wraps, a pack of three cones, a glass piece that costed about 7 euro. Also I had 5 boxes of Dutch Master blunts that I brought with me from the states. There are 4 blunts in each box. In the states we are accustomed to smoking Dutch master blunts filled with weed. It’s funny because in Amsterdam they do not sell them; so every time I come I make sure to bring a bunch.

We jumped on the tram and within about 3-4 stops we were there at the Albert Cuyp market, took about 5 minutes. We got off the tram and saw the market right in front of us. The market was a real good time and I learned a lot from it. I always wondered why there weren’t a lot of supermarkets in Amsterdam where people buy groceries and stuff and the market answered many questions. We saw a lot of locals there, in which they were buying a number of different things. The market starts with a big Fritas stand with people buying delicious French fries. The market then continues over a stretch of about ½ mile containing many items. This is where many locals come to do their weekly shopping. The market included: clothing, shoes, fresh squeezed juices, produce, fruit, vegetables, fresh cut meats from the butcher, fish market, pocket books, accessories, souvenirs, candy, other food, and countless other flea market items. It’s an open-air market where vendors set up in the early morning and bargain their goods to buyers. We had a very good time and made some purchases throughout. The freshly squeezed juices for only 1 euro were delicious.

Another reason why we came down here is because we wanted to go to Katsu. We have heard good things about the shop but never been before. After walking around for about another hour and a half searching we decided to go into an Internet café and look it up. Great piece of advise; if your in Amsterdam and can’t find something just go to an internet café pay .50 euro and look it up on the internet. After that we were at Katsu within 10 minutes. If you enter the Albert Cup Market Katsu is two streets down on the left hand side. We entered Katsu and did not even need to look at the menu: 2 grams of Black Widow please. I have heard about this strain and was dying to try it. We packed a bowl of it to get a nice taste. It was a nice powerful punch that kind of waked you up. The bud also looked pretty crazy and unique. We rolled a spliff, smoked it up and drank some cokes; actually Frank had a Fanta. Frank is obsessed with Orange Fanta in Amsterdam, don’t ask me why…We sat in Katsu for a while, it was a cozy little shop with a good vibe. Some guy talked our ear off about politics and class status, so after awhile we said our goodbyes. We decided not to take the tram back yet and instead to walk up about 10 minutes to Mellow Yellow. It turned out to be an excellent decision.

Before we left for the trip Frank and me made a bet on the Jets and Patriots football game. The Jets won and I won the bet, so Frank had to buy me 1 gram of Blueberry at Mellow Yellow.. Frank bought a total of 5 grams of Blueberry and gave me my one gram. I was going to purchase the Pot of Gold but they were out. Instead I opted for the Blue Berry Ice hash. A little expensive at 30 euro a gram but wow was it worth it. After smoking for 2 days straight our tolerance has been lifted; but I don’t care how much you smoke: the blue berry ice will knock you on your arsh……A nice strong hit and right away you were on a new level…I drank a chocomel chilled there for awhile and then we headed back towards the tram because it was getting late..

We ate the English Breakfast, completely skipped lunch and now being around 5PM we headed back on the tram to get back to the hotel to wash up and get ready for dinner. On the way back to the hotel I took a quick hop through the RLD and then met Frank back at the apartment. I showered and then after smoking a few joints was ready for dinner. It was about 7PM and after looking over our list of restaurants we decided to go to Gouchos Restaurant. We heard they have perfect beef there, a really nice steak…With no reservation we were still able to get a table upstairs. We were only two so had no problem but if you are traveling with more then two people I would definitely advise making reservations when going out to eat in Amsterdam. It took awhile for us to finally get a server, but hey this is Europe, everything is more laid back and slow. The one thing I do appreciate in the states is the service. You can’t find excellent service like you find in America. I started the meal with a mixed salad and it was pretty tasty. Frank had a real good looking starter: melted provolone cheese with dipping bread and some other stuff as well; looked pretty good. I was going to ask to try some but he quickly ate it up. We both ordered steak, medium cooked: I ordered a center cut and I think Frank had the sirloin. The sides were vegetables and fries. I ordered French fries, which I later realized that French fries in Amsterdam means the skinny type of potatoes not the usually fritas you see everywhere on the street. Frank got the wedges, which were the fries I was accustomed too. No problem just a lesson learned. After the meal we ordered dessert. I had the Chocolate Chocolate; which was chocolate mouse with white chocolate wedges and ice cream as well, with cream. It was very good. Frank got some sort of crepe with cream and caramel, which looked good as well. The waitress called me a girly girl cause I order chocolate, I agreed saying I want that chocolate don’t care if its not a mans dessert. The restaurant was okay, it wasn’t the best steak that I ever had, Bobby Flay Steakhouse destroys Gouchos. The price was definitely up there as well. But it was a good meal and the chain of Gauchos is definitely reliable for its food. In Amsterdam I will definitely be back to Gauchos, maybe trying a different meal. Everyone was very nice and the wait not that bad for Europe Standards. Also had some good deals on wine.

After dinner we walked to the Grocery store to buy some supplies for the fridge to stock up on for the apartment. We got there a little past 8PM and the store was just closing. We will have to go back tomorrow. We went back to the apartment for a bit after a stroll through the RLD. Smoked a couple of J’s and decided to head towards the Bluebird to spend the rest of the night. The Bluebird is real chill and one of my favorite shops. There’s a little bench outside. You enter the shop into a small foyer with a little seat, and then a staircase to your immediate left. Up the stairs you go and once on top : to your right is the enclosed smoking room, to your left is the budtender, and straight ahead is the bar with some seats. I ordered a hot chocolate, which was the best I had in the Dam. I must have had about 4 of these in the Bluebird throughout my trip. We also picked up 2 grams of Blue Berry Cheese… We sat down and rolled up. I loved the cheese a nice mellow smoke that was very relaxing and easy on the throat, especially for cheese. For some reason Frank didn’t take a liking to the cheese and caused his bug out in the next few hours.

We met two nice girls that went to the university who told us that they had been to the Bluebird every night for the past 5 months. That was pretty shocking, but coool. We chilled there for a while and then Pink Floyd’s “Darkside of The Moon” kicked on. I was loving it, grooving with the chicks listening to darkside, smoking my cheese and some chcocolope as well… But Frank wasn’t having it. Not even halfway in to Dark Side of the Moon Frank had to get out of there. Understanding those moments of panic, I completely understood and followed Frank’s lead to leave. Getting up and leaving is always a process, feels like it takes eternity. Putting on your jacket, carry bag, gloves, hat, travel wallet, zipping up: forever….Before going back to the apartment we stopped at the GreenPlace and picked up some LA CON, chcocolope, trainwreck, and g-13. Green Place is also very chill, with a large smoke room in the back, leather seats, flat screen TV playing dance music; we have been here before..

Back at the apartment it is about 12:30 AM. We rolled two blunts. One of Martian Mean Green and the other with LA CON..Frank also rolled up a gram each of G-13 and trainwreck…Frank ate some truffles that he bought earlier that were suppose to be trippy but had no apparent affect on Frank…Later on we found out your suppose to eat them on a complete empty stomach but we were eating and snacking all the time….Tonight it was time for “Fear and Loathing” A classic Amsterdam trip movie and a must see every time you are in the DAM. We finished our smoke watched some Entourage, then merry Sinterclause Frank- see ya in the morning…Ended the night passing out to cartoon Disney show Tales Spin, while smoking a bowl of the Blue Berry Ice……………

One of the things that you say when you go to Amsterdam is that I am going to get up early everyday and get a good start on the day…Well, that’s always the plan but after a few real busy days you tend on sleeping in. My eyes open and it is really cold out, I feel real good under my covers with my bowl and lighter by my side. I take a hit of whatever is in the bowl, then I quickly realize that it is the blueberry ice hash; a pretty harsh way to start the day. I look at my watch and its 11:30AM. Wow I couldn’t believe we slept that late, but I guess we really needed it.

I got Frank up, asked where he wanted to go eat and we agreed to head down the Singel to the Pancake House. I read good things about this place, nice thin pancakes with all different toppings and made so many different ways. I was definitely right about its popularity because as we arrived to the place the line was out the door. We checked out the menu, looked at the line, then felt our stomachs: we were not going to wait. So now where to?? I remembered two years ago I ate at a place across from the Anne Frank house called De Prins. A small little eatery but good local food at great prices. We walked up the Singel and arrived in less than 5 minutes. We got a seat right away and proceeded to order. I got my usually cappuccino and OJ with two eggs over easy, toast, side of bacon, and a ham and cheese toastie. Frank got eggs and bacon with toast and something else but cant remember. The toastie was real good and a definite classic sandwich in Amsterdam. It’s like a grilled cheese sandwich with meat but thicker toast and just taste a little better. It’s like a high-end grilled cheese sandwich.

After eating, we decided to walk right across the street to make a pick up at the Grey Area, my favorite shop. I ordered the Martian Mean Green again, got to get it while it is still around, then I proceeded to order my favorite classic strains: 3 grams of the Grey Berry; which has always been a fav of mine( I could smoke this strain all day long and never get tired of it; just like the G-13 haze; its very addicting. Next was the Silver Bubble..possible one of the best smokes in the Dam the Silver Bubble never disappoints and is a must try for any toker. Very crystally and a great smell. Frank picked up some Chocolope and some more Obama Haze. He also got some Cannalope Haze and Grey Berry as well.

The GA was packed so we decided to head back to the apartment and hang out local. Before we went back to the apartment we saw Sinterclause walking around with a couple black Petes. It still amazes me to see a white guy with a beard and pope like hat with a cane and robe walk around with other people who are his servants with their faces painted black following him around. I though to myself if that ever happened in the states someone would get arrested. But yeah we are in Europe and this is their culture, Ill go along with it. As we were heading back to the apartment we realized we needed to go to the store to pick up some essentials for the room. We each spilt up in the store and ended up buying: 2 cases of Heineken, 4 boxes of chocolate, chocomel drinks, bottles of water, bread, salami, cheese, 1 block of cheese, Pringles, chips, toberlerone, and stroopwaffels. I love those stroop waffles.

Back to the apartment we unloaded our stuff and then started to roll up some goodies. We watched some Seinfeld and, smoked some joints and ate lots of chocolate. It was almost 6:30PM, so we had to decide where we wanted to go to dinner. We chose Italian and headed back to the Singel and ate at Casa Di David. Again no wait and no problem getting a seat without reservations. We ordered a bottle of the house wine and really enjoyed it. It was very sweet but tasty as well. I had a salad as a starter along with a pizza with spicy salami that me and Frank split. For my main meal I had pasta Bolognese, which was pretty tasty; not sure what Frank had but he liked it as well. Casa Di David was a nice place and a decent place to eat but not the best Italian food Amsterdam has to offer. I probably would not eat there again. After dinner we headed to the red light district and did our normal walkthrough, starting my old church and then to the bull dog through the shady alleys, in the little motel and then across the street to the main RLD. After wondering around for quite a while we decided to go hang out at the green house united for the rest of the night…I got 1 gram of arjans ultra haze #1, nice smoke but didn’t look that fresh, 1 gram of Super Silver Haze, which has always been a favorite of mine. Excellent smoke and felt really good after rolling a nice cone. Last time we were in the DAM for the Cannabis Cup last November we rolled a cone of Super Silver Haze with about 13 Grams. It was the biggest thing I ever smoked and knocked all of us out. It took us about an hour to get ourselves together and walk back to the hotel. This time I didn’t go that crazy but still had the same fuzzy warm feeling thanks to the Super Silver….

It started getting late and we headed back to our apartment after another run through the RLD. We rolled a blunt of Grey Berry and a giant cone of the Strwberry Haze that Frank had purchased earlier from the Green House. It went down real nice as we capped the night passing out to City Slickers 2 with Billy Crystal…. This time we both made it to our beds and I went to sleep with the bowl by my side occasional waking up and taking a hit throughout the night…Oh how I love those Amsterdam sleeps-some of the best’s………

Final Trip Report Summary

Grab a bean bag seat, this is the final travelogue of my Amsterdam Vacation.

Amsterdam Days 4 and 5

Well like every other time in Amsterdam it starts to get fuzzy towards the end of the trip. The first couple of days last forever and can be remembered very vividly, but the last few go by like the blink of the eye and feel like they are days packed into one. Its like, what the heck happened tomorrows my last day, where did the last two days go.

So for the purpose of this report I will try my best to highlight the events I remember over days 4 and 5 (Dec. 7 and 8th) leading up to the last day and night in the DAM.

After sleeping in late yesterday I set my cell phone alarm to ring at 8:30AM; only a few days left and want to enjoy every minute. (I can always catch up on sleep on the plane and when I get home) We jump right out of bed, don’t even bother to shower, pack our “weed” bag and go to Barneys “Breakfast” Downtown…

Barneys Downtown is truly my favorite breakfast spot, yeah a little expensive, but who cares when you are on vacation; especially when you’re in Amsterdam. Everyone in there is real friendly with cool music playing. They are affiliated with Barneys the coffee shop so marijuana and hash smoking is permitted… I grab a menu and roll a phat cone of my fav: G-13 haze..I already know what I want to order, a full Irish Breakfast, fresh OJ, and a cappuccino. Frank had some eggs, bacon, and pancakes on the side; also with a cappuccino and OJ. After we finished our cone, the food has arrived. Finally a proper breakfast. After the meal I mentioned to Frank that during our next trip we must come here more then once. It is truly a great way to kick start your day..We finished our meal then started hitting up coffee shops. Today we wanted to bounce around to our favorite shops for about an hour at each place, kind of like our own coffee shop crawl. We went to Barneys, The Greenhouse, Grey Area, Tweede Kamer, Dampkring, Homegrown Fantasy(disappointed they were out of cheese), Green Place, and The Blue Bird. I really do not remember too much but I do recall us getting extremely stoned and ending up at the apartment after another RLD run shortly before dinner.

Now by this time things were starting to get real foggy and we were starting to get sluggish walking around.. Things really hit rock bottom when before dinner I was sitting on the couch and I looked over and saw Frank breaking up some roaches in the ashtray and packing it into the bowl..I looked at him and shook my head saying, Frank we are not home we do not need to do that. He claimed that it did not matter and had his own principles, I guess he was right, but I still chose not to hit it and I waited to he was done, then packed the bowl with some fresh Grey Berry…It was now 6PM and we were hungry, we jumped on the tram and headed towards the Spui. Forgetting what restaurant was recommended to us we found an Argentinean Steak House called I believe La Mancha..All I have to say is that the food was terrible and so was the service. We waited for over an hour and a half for our ribs and fries. When the ribs finally arrived they were burnt and had soy sauce poured all over them..The fries were mushy and the worst in all of Amsterdam. I thought, was I getting this kind of service because I am a tourist and they think they can get away with it. Usually I would not care, but I thought for a second, I am not going to stand for this….I demanded to talk with a manager, and came up with a complete lie…I told him that this was my favorite restaurant and that I always come here and this is totally unacceptable. I explained we were waiting for nearly 2 hrs., our waitress didn’t know what was what, and the food was burnt, cold, and soggy. He looked at it and it was like I called his bluff on the spot. He kept apologizing and said that I was 100% correct. Within 10 minutes we had fresh fries and a new order of ribs. Even though the ribs were still terrible at least they had to make a second rack for the both of us.

So even though I left the place still hungry and unsatisfied with the food I felt a little contempt with the victory that I had on the owner..I repeat to anyone DO not go to this place, the name is La Mancha and it is terrible, avoid like the ugly black chicks near Old Church. Everything got a lot better after dinner, when we went around the corner and walked into the Bushdoctor. This is where I got introduced to Butter Hash…Expensive at 50 euro per gram, but noooooooo joke. This was up there with the blueberry ice hash. Even though we have been smoking so much the last few days, this put us on our arse. Immediately I forgot about the bad food at La Mancha and just had a huge smile on my face..After that I do not remember much that happened from the time I got back to the apartment. After getting off the tram at Dam square I do remember buying some donoughts and stroopwaffels, but other then that not too much for the rest of the night. Once I got my hands on that Butter Hash the rest of my trip was pretty much a blur. We watched something on the DVD player and I remember rolling a ridiculous joint with butter hash, blue berry ice hash, grey area crystal, Nepal temple balls, and some g-13 all mixed up..After that joint it was lights out: I think me and Frank both passed out sitting on the couch and only Frank was brave enough to get up and make it to his bed. The couch for me, until tomorrow.

Day 5 we split up in the morning, Frank wanted to go do some “shopping” and hit the post office up later. I wanted to do some smoking and sightseeing. We agreed to meet at the Greenhouse United at 2PM for lunch and a smoke. I ate some breakfast at our hotel, which was free: hot croissants with butter, cheese, ham, rolls, cereal, fruit, and toast and jam. Orange juice and apple juice also, didn’t try the coffee, usually free coffee is crap anyway. At around 12PM I helped open up the Grey Area, and being my favorite shop I wanted to chill there for a while..I made some of my usual purchases: silver bubble, MMG, and Chocolope. I got a seat looking out the window, put my ipod on and drifted off into my own world for the next 2 hrs. It was funny because I bumped into Frank at the GA, one of his stops on his morning shopping list. It was pretty funny, because I just waved to him; he took a hit of what I had then walked out…

2 PM came and I met Frank at the Greenhouse. I was a little late upon arrival; it was like 2:20PM. I ordered a hot chocolate then headed to take a seat upstairs. No Frank, was I so stoned that I got the meeting place wrong, did Frank wait till 2:20PM and just leave. Damn only one room key and I don’t want to waste one of my last days in the dam looking for Frank..Calm down, drink my Hot Chocolate, roll a joint of super silver and everything will be alright…Minutes later Frank walked through the door. He rolled a cone and then we ordered lunch. Frank had a BLT, and I ordered a toasty with ham. Both were excellent. The toasty at the Greenhouse United for 3.50Euro is an excellent snack for the price…We chilled there for a few hours then headed back to our place the Lounge Suite. Smoked a couple bowls, watched some Seinfeld and How I met Your Mother, with Neil Patrick Harris and then it was dinnertime.

After yesterday’s disaster at La Mancha’s, I was taking no chances with tonight’s dinner. We are going to my favorite Amsterdam Dutch restaurant, “Moeders” Located down the Rozengracht, Moeders serves typical Dutch food. If you bring a picture frame of your mom they will put it up in their restaurant along with the thousand other mothers that they have hanging on their walls. My mom went up four years ago when I first discovered Moeders..Moeders feels like you are at home, they treat you well, the wait is limited and you feel like you are eating a meal that comes from home. The last few times I ordered the Mothers Ribs, with a starter salad and dessert. Although that meal was excellent I wanted to try something different this time. I ordered the Hotchpotch, mash potatoes mixed with veggies, sausage of HEMA, a meatball, and bacon.

It was very tasty. I also started my meal with a Lobster Soup which was absolutely delicousus. For dessert I had the Chocolate mousse with peppered and spicy white chocolate. Frank had the Farmers salad(artichoke, beans, tomato, red onion, garlic crouton, and lettuce. His main coarse was Sudderveels, braised steak( which looked awesome). For dessert he also had the Chocolate mousse and an Irish Coffee…After dinner we went through the RLD and then met back up at the apartment..Smoked some Butter Hash and the rest of the night was a blur. I know we went to the Bluebird and chilled for a while, then by the GreenPlace to pick up some SharksBreath 2009, which was an incredible smoke. I have heard of Sharksbreath before but haven’t seen it anywhere. The day prior they were all out of it, but now he was re-stocked. I bought an extra gram for later, along with some LA Con. Frank picked up some Train wreck….Back to the apartment, starred out our huge window, smoked a bunch, don’t remember what we watched and passed out around 3AM….

Last full day and the eve of my birthday…..

I open up my eyes without an alarm to see Frank running around. “ Last full day in the DAM, and the EVE of my 28th birthday, get up and lets celebrate…This was going to be a very interesting day: At midnight it will be the 10th and my birthday will arrive and then I will take a 10:45 am flight back to the states, arriving at 1PM local time on the east coast of America and celebrate my B-day with my family….Okay Frank, Let’s Gooo!!!!!!I jump out of bed with a clogged nose and barely able to swallow.. I look at Frank and he has already thrown in the towel. His throat was killing him but the champ that he is, was still trying to hit the bowl, coughing almost upon impact of the smoke. I was doing a little bit better so I took more of the burden with the smoke but I would suffer greater post vacation, still coughing today….

With a 10:45AM flight tomorrow this would be the last day in Amsterdam, and after all we have done we were ready to depart…..I hate saying that even today but there is a moment when you realize that you are just ready to return home…We spent the early part of the day souvenir shopping and when your stoned and looking for gifts that you have no idea what you want to buy it takes for ever. Sometimes you might even pick things up carry a whole bunch of things in your hand and put everything back and start all over. You might also go to one store to another and back to the first. I did all of this but after I was done I was very happy with my purchases. Lots of chocolate, some tee shirts, winter hat, shot glass, lighters, papers, pipe, and stroopwafels. Back to the apartment to drop off all my bags..After a hop, skip, and a jump through the RLD it was mission SMOKE. It was the last day to finish our stash and after emptying the “weed” bag I was surprised to see everything almost gone. The last 5 days was a smoke frenzy and now we just had to finish off all the remaining. About 4 grams left all together. Absolutely no problem. Before dinner we rolled about 2 grams of grey berry into a blunt. Nice high, although it was tough smoking, Frank threw in the towel ½ way into the blunt. He knew he had to save some lungs for the birthday weed to be smoked later. I stopped by the Grey Area before dinnertime to make my birthday purchases for later. A gram of Chocolope and a gram of Martian Mean Green. I thank Geoffboxer, an Amsterdam travel expert, for his dinner recommendation for our final evening, " Saturninos”. Reguliersdwasstraat 5, the street that runs parallel; behind the flower market. Tel 020-6390-102. It’s a great Italian Restaurant with excellent wine and a good pasta or pizza dish.I enjoyed it soo much that even when someone spilled a glass of wine on me I wasn’t bothered a bit. Maybe that is because the wine was awesome also. We started with a fried calamari app. and was served with a tasty horseradish sauce. Then a side Salad with oil and vinegar. I ordered the veal scaloppini; veal and eggplant with fresh mozz and tomato sauce. Very tasty and a true classic Italian dish. Frank ordered a dish of pasta and a spicy salami pizza. Thumbs up to Saturninos..I would definitely recommend and will be back. The dessert was also excellent. Frank had the Tiramisu, and I had the Italian Cake. Very tasty and very comfortable place. The restaurant is pretty small so if you are going with a large group of people I would suggest calling to see if they take reservations.

After our meal we stopped in Tweed Kamer, once again. Frank purchased the grape and I ordered an earl grey tea to help sooth my fastely dying throat. Frank ordered a Fanta, or hot chocolate and rolled the Grape. After about an hour chilling there we went across the street to De Dampkring. The first thing that was asked of us was to take our hats off, man relax its 15 degrees outside I just get in the building and your already telling me to take my hat off; likes it’s a fancy restaurant or the Ball for crying out loud. I never felt good vibes in this place through out the years anyway, so we stayed for a minute then took off……We took the tram back to the Dam Center and chilled by the Bluebird and The Green Place. Now around 11 PM we headed back to the room. Exhausted by the entire trip we were now to stay local to bring in the birthday. I rolled two huge blunts; one with the remaining g-13 haze, about 2.5 grams, and the MMG that I purchased earlier from the Grey Area…I finished rolling and it was about 11:30 PM. I grabbed the room key and told Frank I would be back shortly after midnight. I went across the street and purchased two space cakes. I didn’t eat them all trip yet and wanted to eat them before my 7-hour adventure home. After purchasing my muffins I headed into the RLD shortly before midnight……..

Moments later around 12:20AM I arrived back to the apartment to get a happy birthday greeting from Frank.. I had a big smile on my face and proceeded to light and smoke both blunts prior rolled. My last smoke of the night was a joint of the chocolope…I fell asleep in my bed with the bowl packed with the remainder of butter hash and blueberry ice waiting for my cell phone to wake me up at 6:30AM………………………………….

6:30AM, on the dot Dec. 10th 2008, I awake and look out the window for the last time. I will truly miss the Lounge Suite at the Greenhouse Effect. It was my favorite accommodation in all my trips to the DAM and would love to stay there again… I packed my bags the night prior, which is a heavy recommendation, so I didn’t have much to do to get ready for my flight. It was raining pretty heavy out at 7AM, but Frank and me tried to find a breakfast spot anyway. No luck, in Amsterdam at 7am in the morning in December during the week, no one serves food at that time. No big deal, it was nice getting fresh air and seeing some final sights in Amsterdam, my second home….Back to the apartment to pick up my bags and head toward central. I take a final smoke of the bowl, grab my luggage and space cakes and get ready to go. I say my goodbyes to Frank, his flight was at 1:45PM and now he was solely responsible for checking out. He helped me with my bags down the steps and now I was back on my own just like when I arrived to get back home.

I dragged my luggage down to Central, struggling to do so, being so tired after my trip and dealing with the fact that my handle was broken on my luggage. Finally I arrived at the train station and went all the way to the end and up the elevator to the platform that would take me back to reality and ship me off to the states. I ate my muffins when I boarded the train and in about 20 minutes I had arrived back at Schipol..I really wanted to sit down and eat a proper breakfast but it’s always a damn rush on the way home so I had no time. I manually checked in, and then I proceeded to check my bags in. I went through security taking off practically everything and finally arrived at my gate…Luckily I found a small eatery by the terminal and ate a croissant with ham and cheese with my final cappuccino. After eating I checked onto my flight, and answered the questions that they ask you so seriously its like they make you feel like you did something wrong.

I waited about 30 min before boarding the plane and the brownies kicked in. It was a nice mellow high that got a little intense at times, but real nice before boarding a flight. One thing that I learned in the past is that when I eat space cakes I pass out!!!!!!The perfect thing for a seven hour flight….The plane was packed but remembering the seating chart from the flight there I chose a seat with no one in front of me( tons of leg room) Other then the accessional waking up for drinks and food I was completely knocked out. I tried to watch The Mummy 3, like 5 times but it just wasn’t happening.

Before I even realized we had took off I was arriving at Newark International. 1:20 PM, Dec. 10th I land on the runway….I have my report card filled out and I breeze through customs…I wait awhile for my luggage, finally grab it and then proceed to checkout of this place. I smile as I tell the official its nice to be back to warm Jersey (thought I would never say that) on my Birthday. He wished me a happy birthday and I slowly proceed to the exit door. I exit and see my Father waiting to take me home. He wishes me a happy birthday and then informs me that he parked all the way down at the first entrance. No big deal, I have traveled half way around the world I can go a couple of more blocks. We finally get to the car and I get the recap of what happened when I was gone. I go for the short version because when you get back from along trip you really do not want to talk too much. A half hour later I arrive home. I call my mom at work and let her know that pizza and sandwiches for my Birthday dinner would be fine. I was in no shape to go out to dinner and was definitely starting to get sick. I got a drink of some Iced Tea then dropped my bags off down stairs in the laundry room. Now the part I have been waiting for: I slowly climb up the stairs, take off my cloths and slide into my bed with the covers on waiting for dinner to arrive later. I wake up briefly when my mother returns, have dinner and then birthday cake with the family, my sister and grandfather and then return to the bedroom for a long deserved nap….An hour into my sleep my phone goes off and its Frank saying he has arrived..Great that Frank has made it back safe but I will not be seeing him tonight, for tonight I have a date with my blanket and pillows…..

I wake up the next day(around 2PM to 5 missed calls by Frank; my cell phone and house phone. I go over to my parent’s window and look out to see Frank by his car…I call him on his cell phone to see what’s up: his response was, “Chris, lets smoke”……………

That's some serious smoking. A lot of things well-appreciated here, including Frank's devotion to smoking the roaches. I just can't bring myself to throw them away (even at home, I throw them in with the leaf, paper and all, for hash-making). Sounds like a great time.
