Hey all!

Brief info about me:
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Nationality: Norwegian

I just recently found this forum when I was searching info on coffeeshop in the Dam.. I want to be well prepared since a mate of mine and myself have booked flights to Amsterdam on the 30th of December. We are staying for three nights. I'm looking farward to a "creative" New Years Eve... I've been to Amstedam twice before, but just on a business trips and therefore didn't see much to the CS's. (I had one short CS experience on my last visit though , and thrust me it wasn't to much fun to attend a confernce the next day at 8:00)

I've got a few questions that I hope some of you might be able to answer... Should probably be posted in diffrent sub-categories, but here it goes....

1. The weed and hash I often get in Norway is pretty bad quality, and therefore I wonder how I'll react to the finest/stongest weed the CS's in the DAM has to offer...? Should I maybe start with some weed that not are too strong? Also do any of you have any experiences with some weed that doesn't go well together with alcohol?

2. Which CS's should we buy our stash at? I've been reading a lot of reviews and it's seems like most people reccomend Barney's and the Grey Area.

3. What kind of weed should we buy? I really love the weed that makes me light weight/floating... sativa ?? I've read that G-13, Laughing Buddha and NYC Diesel are some fine shit...

4. Which hotel to stay at? We want to live central, close to coffeshops and bars. Preferred smoking friendly... Max bugdet = 400-500 euros for all 3 nights.

5. What to do on New Years Eve? Anything special that happens? Any concerts etc? Where to watch the fireworks? Which bars to visit, which doesn't charge you too much for the beer/drinks?

hi mate ,can help you with a couple of those things ,you cant go far wrong buying from the grey area just try to stick to sativas during the day.have just got back and did this and had a great time you can go for other things later to get bombed but doing that i actually managed to see parts of the dam i never seen before
also 420 is a great place to buy good weed,the hash is pretty strong just take it easy to start with and you should be ok
we stayed at the grand kraznopolsky right on dam sq ,be discreet try to check in about 13.00 and ask for a smoking room they have a few and suggest you get there early normal check in is 15.00/it is about 150 a night
one thing you should do is amsterdam dungeon got totally mashed and i have not laughed so much in ages my misses nearly wet herself.

I'll try my best to help you out here...

My advice (which might not be conventional) is to get as fucked up as possible on whatever "strongest" stuff you can find. This means you don't have to worry about not handling it, because you'll be forced to! lol.
Also with alcohol, a lot of places won't let you drink and smoke at the same time, but if you are, my advice to is not to go too hard on the drink, thats usually where most of my buddies go wrong and end up being sick!

Shop around! everyone knows where they like are for lots of different reasons, check out a few and you'll find the spot thats right for you.

You'll not go wrong sticking to sativa, especially during the day as you might wanna go from place to place and get food and what not so, you'll need to be more active than with indica. But everyone loves a good Indica stoned so try that shit too! lol.

To be honest, for 3 nights witht hat budget you'll not go too wrong with most places, as long as you have somewhere to rest your head. be cautious of staying on the Red Light, I myself don't have a problem with this, but some people aren't very comfortable with this cos of the badlads running about there.

The Staatsloterij and the City of Amsterdam have come together for the second time to put on a massive New Year’s Eve event in the heart of the city. Festivities start around 22:30 and include performances by major Dutch artists and a spectacular fireworks display at midnight. this is from www.iamsterdam.nl ... I was considering going myself as loads of people would be there, but if you are looking to get your smoke or drink on I'm not too sure if this is for you.
