Botel?

Post by Lubricant »

Has anyone stayed at the Botel and know how frequent the bus/ferry runs to Centraal Station?

There are thousands and thousands of hotel rooms in Amsterdam. I'd stay somewhere else. In fact, I'd stay in an apartment.

I have done all that, the location in Amsterdam is not important to me.
I can use a bike and prefer not to stay in a noisy area..
I have done hotels, and apartments..
Now im going to stay at the Botel..

So, does anyone know when the shuttle/ferry runs? how often?

are you trying it just to say you did stay there?

if you have been before, surely you must have found a nice place you want to go back to, no? or even a better place that is quiet and away from the city center.

i would take the advice from pala and also i would give you the same advice . the botel doesnt get many good reviews and there is no real reason to want to stay there.. unless your in it for the free porn.. lol im juust teasing you.

unfortunately i have nothing useful to say about the botel or to answer any of your questions.. let us know how it went.

I have never stayed at the Botel myself, but after doing a little research I did find some info for you, including the fact that the Botel does get good reviews more often than not. I hope it helps.

Now located by the former NDSM-shipyard in Amsterdam North, at the NDSM-Pier 3, a colourful and vital dockside area now houses workshops and artists' studios, hip cafes and restaurants. The location can be reached from the Central Station by ferry (NDSM-werfveer), leaving from behind Central Station (leave Amsterdam central station from the north side exit).

The location is extremely convenient, just a 10 minute FREE boat ride from the central station with boats going at least every 1/2 hour and then a FREE shuttle bus from the same place late at night. The ride across the water (10 minutes) is also quite interesting as there are many things you will otherwise not get to see.

The crossing takes about 15 minutes and is free of charge. When you come out of central station cross the road to the dock turn left - it is the very last point too your left), this takes about 2 mins, and the ferry journey about 10mins. After 11.45pm a free shuttle services is available. (You still take a ferry from the same place only the middle point, it will say BUIKSOLTERWEG, it takes about 5 mins to cross and the shuttle picks you up from their to take you round to the boat, if unsure ask at central station. They are very helpful and will direct you.

Have a great time.

I enjoy all the places I stayed at in the past, but I like to check new places out each time..

We are either staying at the Botel, or getting a much cheaper place in Haarlem.. Also just a 20 min train ride from Amsterdam, and I love Haarlem!!
