birthday plans

Post by juliedawg »

hello all!

We are traveling to Amsterdam for a little over a week in early April. Very excited first timers! The point of the trip is to celebrate my partners big 30th birthday. Here's the question- Where can I get the best space cake? Best tasting (I have had some potent yet NASTY baked goods in my life), as well as something strong but not "knock you on your a$$, done for the day" strong. Best birthday cake in the world question!

Also, we were heavy daily smokers in college/grad school, but sadly life has taken its toll and its been what feels like a lifetime. I know the stuff in A'dam is a world away from the plain ole mexican brick weed we used to smoke. Want to sart with some low level smoke. Suggestions?

And finally- anyone have any gay friendly coffeeshop recommendations? We would like to light up somwhere that we will feel welcome! Or at the least not get outright stared at, being a couple of lesbian smoking a joint.

My experience with space cakes has been bad. Not worth the money in my opinion,
As far as smoke I would ask budtender for recommendation.
I went two years ago with my niece and her girl, and another gay couple and they had a great time. Amsterdam is a very open city.
There are plenty of gay bars and etc., but no one real cares what you are or do, so have a great birthday.

I agree, haven't had much luck with space cakes, with the exception of Home Grown Fantasy, which seemed to work pretty nicely and tasted fantastic. Nothing with the dry cakes I tried last at the Bulldog.

Also agree that you will feel comfortable anywhere in Amsterdam, a very open minded city.

The Other Side is a "gay" coffeeshop. I've not been there though.

funny id read it was a "gay" cs but tbh didnt notice when me n mrs were in there, was a mixture of people in there and all very friendly n fun vibe good place to chill imo.... gay or otherwise :-)

tbh ive been to a few places with gay friends and even those that arent on the "gay" scene couldnt care less long as your polite n courteous it'll go a long way same as anywhere :-)

ps seeing some girl on girl action wouldve been fun.... but if i want that plenty of places to see it but of course you gotta pay GRIN

Paradox has a very nice space cake for 6 euros.

it contains 1.25g (yes that is 1.25g) of hash. Most contain .4g. It's not bad, then I was baked, so I can't really tell. Would recommend one to share ;)

Thanks for all the replies! Sorry- no "girl on girl action" to be witnessed. 8) Not why I asked. Just looking for somewhere to chill comfortably. We are from deep south in the states, so even holding hands in public is likely to end badly. Going to get there on the 2nd, but also doing Germany for kick a$$ beer and Belgum for kick a$$ chocolate and of course A'dam for kick a$$ pot, so the dates that we will be in town are not consecutive. I don't know how I am going to make it to April. Already about to jump out of my skin and its only January!

If you are out for 4/20 make sure you get yourself to the meet and greet at the 420 cafe. Gives you a chance to meet all the crazy people :)
