Question

Post by Lobe »

Me and two friends are going to Amsterdam this summer, but we are all 17 (I am the oldest, and my birthday is at the end of October). We are all good friends, and this could be the last time we see each other again, so we ARE going to go, and we have smoked (a lot of) pot before.
So I was wondering, seeing as I have never been to Amsterdam before, what can I do to get pot? Should I buy a fake ID? I have read conflicting stories about how the police in Amsterdam can spot a fake 20 meters away, and some stories on how they don't even ask for your ID.
Would these ID's pass?

Or is it not worth it? Would anyone buy it for us from within the cafe? If we don't take fake ID (I don't want to take fake id, but I will if we have to), is there anywhere that is lenient on the age limit? I reckon I could pass for a young 18 year old...

There are 10 other threads at least about this and they all devolve into infantile tantrums and name calling.

I suggest 10 minutes of searching and reading.

Good luck son,

If you care anything about the coffeeshop culture , don't even try to go in one.

If one were to mistakenly serve you, and then loose their license we would be really pissed and you would have to spend the rest of your life in hiding.

Good points, but thats not the question I was asking.
I don't want this to turn into a flame war, so if you don't have a comment don't post.

We are going, because it means a lot to us. The question is would we get caught. Is security as strict as an airports? Whats it like.
Please tell me, I am interested.

I reckon we turn this on its head, and use it to close bad coffeeshops.

So, I suggest any of the BULLDOGS, SMOKEY, or La Canna, Popeye and Rastababy...

Those were legitimate comments, certainly not a flame war.

The link above should answer all questions.

O.K, I'll be completly honest here. The first time I went to amsterdam I was only 17, For the 3 days i was there I only got served in 3 shops( spent a Long time in these shops though  .)
Truth be told, I couldn't really enjoy my first trip. Wheres the fun in smoking weed other people have bought for you in your Hotel room?
I mean, I would never tell you not to go, I dont have that right. But what I would say is be prepared for alot of rejection, the number of people who I've seen get turned away for being too young is quite Staggering!

Hope that helps :D

Not worth it. Go to Spain maybe. Pick up some girls on the beach, you'll find some grass too.

I can say that anyone who looks even close to being 21 is ID'd in 420 for definite, so I wouldn't bother with that one. As for the others, not really noticed. Only noticed in 420 because I spent a LOT of time in there last trip, but I have seen people being ID'd virtually everywhere.

If you are from the EU, not including UK, you can get away with a drivers license. Sometimes, UK people can get away with a driving license. but every American I have seen get pulled needs a passport.

Not sure where you're from, but that's what I've found. You need a passport or driving license, nothing else will do.

Yeah if you're from the States, the only valid id is a passport. They have an id law in the Netherlands or maybe it's just Amsterdam.
