Vaporiser questions

Post by bigjohn »

I will be in Dam early March and intend to make it a Volcano only trip. Iv'e gone from smoking joints 3 or 4 times a week to nothing at all since new year. Not smoked cigarettes for 10 years, they're bad for you.
As I believe many of the coffeeshops now have the Volcano, the questions are:
1) How much do I put in each time? half a gram, a gram I've no idea at all :?
2) How long does the stuff last, and when it's been vaped can it then be smoked afterwards.
3) What is the best product for vaping? Preferably something mellow, not too harsh on the throat but still with a kick
4) I intend going to Picasso, Pink Floyds, Amnesia, Grey Area and De Kuil/4:20 shop (This ones top of the list  ) Are there any other recomended shops that have the Volcano.

Many thanks for all help/advice received.

John

P.S. Boner, has your new vape arrived yet and whats it like?

First off if I was you I'd head to 420 and ask for them to give you a demonstration on the general use of a vaporiser, Paradox had one and I'd recommend this place as the best place for peace and quiet!

Yeah I've had mine for a few days now I've been practising so I could give a honest account, its not a bad little toy the Volcano is easier to use as thats freestanding where you have to hold mine, I'm still trying different temperatures but last night I got 2 bags out of 1 batch of weed and both bags were very nice, for the money its very good but if I smoked full time then I'd get a volcano.

1- i never wiegh it but i'd say about a 1/4 to 1/3 of a gram is adequate...fill the chamber less than 1/3 of its capacity for max efficientcy (sp?).
2- i often get three bags per "load", i mix the herb between bags just to expose new surfaces. After its vaped most of the THC is gone but you could smoke it if you wanted to (will taste a bit nasty) i use my leftovers to make oil....which is obviously not feasible while on vacation in the dam.
3- not sure personally
4- thats pretty much the creme of the crop...Barneys has a vapo too if you fell like taking that chance.

Since Mazdog showed me the finer parts of the Vapo, I generally do the same thing. Only thing I might do, is put a little less in if I'm only smoking one bag. Keep that top screen cleaned, it gets clogged quickly. AzLaker 8)

1) How much do I put in each time? half a gram, a gram I've no idea at all
all

around a quarter or a third, anymore is really a waste.
2) How long does the stuff last, and when it's been vaped can it then be smoked afterwards.

it takes about 20-30 minutes to go thru the entire process taking your time. it can be smoked afterwards but i do not advise it unless you absolutly have nothing else to smoke. the vap will stay in the bag for along time but it is best used in the first 15-20 minutes. it has a tendancy to condense and of course leak out.

3) What is the best product for vaping? Preferably something mellow, not too harsh on the throat but still with a kick.

most any gear will work, on my recent trip i tended to buy middle range gear, in the 7-8 e per gram range. i highly recommend any of the diesel strains for incredible taste.

4) I intend going to Picasso, Pink Floyds, Amnesia, Grey Area and De Kuil/4:20 shop (This ones top of the list ) Are there any other recomended shops that have the Volcano.

picasso and pink floyd do not have vaporizers. add homegrown fantasy and anyday and barneys (go later in the day or at night) to your list. anyday has a different type of vaporizer and is worth a vist. homegrown fantasy is cool because they have 5e bags, just enough to use the volcano a couple or three times, for 5e its a deal.

be prepared to find dirty volcanos, at de kuil the bud tender runs the machine at the other above mentioned shops it is up to you. a handful of small alcohaul prep wipes was a wonder.

also at de kuil, you only get one giant bag of vapor. its so cool.

good luck, enjoy yourself.

Many thanks all :) youv'e answered all my questions.

So it's 3 or 4 bags per gram, that should do nicely.

As we are arriving in Centre Dam at around 8am I was hoping for a vape & breakfast, I don't want to wait until 10am when many of the shops open, I know I'll be like a child on christmas morning, so it looks like it will be straight to Barneys. " 2 full english and could you Volcano this please" :P Then drag my stoned ass over to De Kuil to get lessons in Vaping.

I have removed Picasso & Pink Floyds and replaced them with Paradox, Anyday & Homegrown Fantasy, although I may call into Floyd's when I leave Barneys, just to use the Internet. I'm intending to keep posting my experiences on this forum as I go along, when I get home I can never remember, it's all just a big blur :?

The wife has added the alcohol wipes to her shopping list.

I'm looking forward to this trip more than any others, maybe because I've not had a smoke for so long. My tolerance should be down to zero, just hope I don't make a complete tool of myself.

Iv'e taken the plunge and ordered a volcano today :D :D :D

I worked out that not smoking since new year has almost  paid for it.

I will report how it was once tried :P

Volcano

Post by Twitch »

To avoid the problems w/dirty Volcanos during my next visit (will be arriving 7 weeks from today, but who's counting, ) I plan I bring my mouthpiece from my volcano w/me. Just the plastic ( or what ever material it is) Figure if I clean it well no one is going to have any idea what it is, so.....anybody see any problem doing that :?: :?: Also to Mazdog & Azlaker,do u know where I can get the tubular bags that originally came w/cano :?: :?: p:s love the idea of canopoo, but since not all Vaps or Volcano was thinking about vapoo, short and to the point.

i think you shouldn't have a prob traveling with that....maybe break it down and seperate the pieces....they would never figure it out.

as for bags...i've only looked at a handful of shops on my side of town and the only places that appears to carry the bags is "Headquarters" by the college....but they aren't cheap ~$20 a box. They also carry mouthpieces and screen sets (all full retail).

www.gotvape.com has the bags for about $15 and they ship quickly and discreetly.

Twitch, here's Vapo's West coast store, out of Oakland. http://www.storz-bickel.com/us_home.htm?x=64&y=8 Three boxes, 3 meters per box, for $9.90 Shipping is $15.00. I thinking of doing the same thing in regards to the mouthpiece, only $29.00. Either that or Alcohol wipes. AzLaker 8)

your own mouthpiece is a great idea as far as hygene. hygene is important but mostly what i found were screens and chambers that were so coated some of them did not work, the guy at hgf had to force the plunger out of the chamber it was stuck so hard.

i recommend the wipes, you need alcohaul prep pads, not just standard hand wipes. a couple of quick wipes on the mouthpiece and a quick cleaning of the parts you can seemed to work best.
