Best time to arrive in dam (time wise)

I'm getting ready to purchase my plane tickets and I'm not sure what time I'd like to get into the dam. I have some 6am-9am options, but I can't check into my room until the afternoon and I don't wanna be carrying my bags around. GHE told me they could hold my bags, but I didn't know if I would be able to drop them off that early. If I could then I would just wonder around until check in. Also what shops are open that early? I know central opens around 7am, but I hear you can't smoke in that shop anymore, so what else if anything is open around the centrum that early?

from the mid-west the choice is normally limited...around 7:00am but before noon. the past few trips we have opted for the earlier arrival.

before you go check out the HOME PAGE to find out individual shop hours, but you can count on quite a few being open as early as 7:00am.

go directly to your hotel and drop your bags off.

have a good time 8)

I'm flying out of JFK around 11pm and arriving around 11:30am. A few drinks and a sleeping aid, I should be fine when I arrive.

I catch the 6am flight from Luton and with the time difference normally arrive at Centraal by 8.30am.

I go straight to my hostel, drop my bags off then hit the Coffeeshops. Some open as early as 7am, Hunters to name just one, so there is always plenty of places to get a smoke.

alright, plane tickets are purchased. Done and done. I'll be in Schipol around 6am and my depart from the dam will be at 3:30pm (plenty of time to say my goodbyes before I leave).

i like a more leisurely approach and aim to get a 10.30ish flight arriving lunch time, usually i'm able to check in at this time, if nto drop off bags

coming home I go for an early evening flight and normally arrange a late departure from the room :-)
nice slow leisurely travel in both directions

I like full days in the dam, so I arrive early and catch the 10pm flight home. Gives me 2 full days then.

totally agree , if its only an overnighter then early n late flights are the way too go :-)
usually find there the most expensive ones tho :(

Really? Whenever I book the 6am and 10pm flights are cheaper, because everyone wants to travel at a more respectable time, in fact often it's only those flights that are left by the time I book.

i tend to fly from heathrow n gatwick and find those slots are the expensive one's i do spot cheaper from luton, but the travelling to there makes it unrealistic as an option for such a short trip

add to the fact the mrs wont fly with some of the budget airlines my choices are even more limited

wow, I really envy you guys who can fly back and fourth that cheap. I'd make 3 or 4 trips a year too for those prices.
