Using Google Earth to explore The Dam

I've been messing around with Google Earth, trying to get a bit familiar with streets, layouts, my hotel location, etc. Of course it's not like actually walking the streets, however there ARE major areas and buildings marked with links to pics of them. Pretty cool way to become visually familiar with major landmarks such at St. Nicholas chruch near Centraal Station.

I like the online version. Allows you to save cities and locations.

Easy and fun way to become familiar with the Dam. Example: I now know that when I exit Centraal Station, I head towards the St. Nicholas Church, which is at the end of Warmoesstraat. Head up the street, and my hotel is just about half a kilometer (Greenhouse Effect).

Here's the ACD data. It's a couple of years old, so there will be some errors.

You can save location's with the downloaded version too. And it does 3-D much better. Click that button and zoom to street level and rotate 90%. Cool man. I can see myself on my balcony.

If you follow damrak straight down from central station, it leads to a open area this is dam square right with the big statue momument thingy? I ask cause i'm useless with directions and even while in amsterdam i got lost and my friend who i travelled with had to take the lead and guide me round lol.
Also wht do I do with the KML file?

Is there an app for it, or do you just go to the website?

OK, thanks. Yea, I've dropped a pin on the hotel I'm staying at along with a few coffeeshops.

Exactly what I've been doing with it. I've got two maps going; coffeeshops on one, and other attractions/sights on the other.
