cool, Camping Zeeburg rocks...hope they are still not too strict on the no smoking policy.

smoking is super ok at zeeburg and I have never once been pulled up for smoking in the cabins or now the new wagons... Even though it says no smoking in the cabins etc. The wagons have their own porch to chill and smoke on anyway.

is the 2 person wagon more spacious than the 2 person cabin and by how much?

Not really, may be a little if you take account of the veranda too... Its the fact they are a lot more private that i really liked. It isn't connected to anyone else, each one stands alone.

Id have to concur about Zeeburg, it is the shittt!!! I stayed there for more then 4 nights this past summer in a tent with my buddy, nothing ever got stolen from us and I openly smoked outside my tent in front of people. Not only that they also have awesome treats and munchies in there camp store, here are some pictures from my stay!

me and a mate are travelling round europe in august per train. an we are thinking about taking a tent with us, as it seem to be the cheapest option.

camping zeeburg looks like the right place to stay. anyone been there in august? is there a good chance to get a spot for your tent?

I was there in June and July, trust me you will have no trouble getting a tenting spot, they have multiple sectors on the campsite for tenting, its usually never full. Bringing a tent is very advisable too because you never know when your gunna need to pop a squat and crash, trust me I know from experience

Always room at Zeeburg, even at the hight of the summer! You'll love it

i´ve seen on the homepage of camping zeeburg, that there is plenty of water around, is it possible to swim there? or rent some small boats for some hours to cruise around the lake?

edit: oh i´ve just discoverd the kayak and bike rental link on the homepage but are there also boats that run with a battery (are they called e-boats? electro boats?) so not very hard to handle and not a very tough job to drive

Zeeburg is set on a small island and surrounded by water. The kayak rental is cheaper than its bike rental! No power boats for rent at zeeburg...

well the wagonettes are smaller than the cabins but they have a little verada seating bit on the front and they can be moved so you point out to the water instead of crappy views of cabins but overall its always the cabin for me its cheaper and im a tight git, its still smoker friendly as we smoked are arses off, if you go in july its high season which means they are £5 more per night. there is a supermarket nearly opposite where you get on the tram to flavorpark if its late and you have munchies there vending machine choices arent great but i love this place compared to sharing with strangers off there heads on mushrooms at hostels stayed at a few hotels the really cheap one and they were disgusting.

I echo your thoughts stu! I had a pair of socks nicked from the end of my bed staying in a hostel in Amsterdam. I am not as tight and like the newness of the wagons. If you were a real cheap skate you would be camping.

I camped here once during the most horrendous summer storm. I had a river of rain running through my tent and ran for the toilet block. So did most of the other campers. I imagined it must have been a bit like that in the war, as we were all crammed in the toilets, chatting and filling the time. Suddenly there was a huge crack of thunder and the rain turned into hail that started to crash through the 'plastic' roof!

I think that was the last time I camped if i think about it...

I've had some pretty bad weather when camping there including trying to put up my tent in the wind and it turning into a v large kite LOL.
At least there is the bar to retreat to if it does get bad.

It is cheaper camping but TBH I find the cabins tiny compared to a decent sized tent and they are not practical if you have kids with you. The campsite is good for kids esp the younger ones and the facilities like Flevopark, the outdoor swimming pool are good and the park just over the canal from the campsite. There's even a half pipe for skateboards etc just under the bridge over the canal by the site.

What I do like best though is the festival feel to the place come july and august when it is busy

brilliant ill be going there in a cople of weeks so y all are sayin that itaint that hard to get there from central right cool... another thing does any 1 know if there are any coffeshops in the vicinity?
