I would pay 10 X the cost, simply for the laid back Amsterdam attitude/festival vibe that pervades the campsite. Priceless in my opinion and getting harder to find IMO. You don't need to drink in the bar, the supermarkets are always cheaper!

Don't want to come across rude but have you tried getting a 'cheap' hotel room in Amsterdam during high season? Re think your definition of expensive and rude!
No it was my second stay in Amsterdam and me and my friend spended a week at zeeburgh.

should i rethink my definition on rude?
expensive maybe but you have no idea what happened to us there so how can you say that.

Anyway that is just my opinion and im not going back. I thought it was expensive for a camping.

Can some1 tell me how big the lockers are that you can rent?
Thinking about camping to help keep the costs down, but just would not be happy if my stuff got raped.

Also anyone know where i would be able to charge my laptop, either at the campsite or a CS?

Thanks in Advance 8)

I don't know about the lockers but I've seen people charging thier phones and laptops in the bar of the campsite and I think you can use the wifi there if you ask( I expect there is a charge as they have a pay for network setup ( 4 PC's) in the bar) also I've seen people charging phones in the toilet/shower blocks

ive been to camping zeeburg about 7 times nothing ever stolen never given a dodgy look no weird people hanging around but me, i like the cabins or wagonettes to stay as my stuff is safer and cabins have plug sockets to charge my crap new this year zeeburg has wifi over the whole site if camping still no problem as staff are helpful and kind and odds on a third of stayers need to charge phones laptops cameras. lockers aint the biggest here. but for a good big locker always use central station ones

The 'lockers' are small bud, passport/cash size. I have never heard of a theft there... Phones/laptops charged no problem at the campsite shop or bar.

still Great service, wagonettes are in good condition still. one shower block is closed they had a load of goats tied to posts near water right outside wagonette, heating was on 24 hours a day about 5 plug sockets in the 2 man wagonette porch bit was great again in morning with a joint and strong coffee stayed in end corner next to water had no views of other wagonettes just lovely views in this one (no.94) they now have wifi and laptop hooked up fine but mates iphone didnt. they still sell all the different types of tram tickets plus the 24, 48 and 72 passes

the ducks this trip were great

as always constantly smoked with no problems from staff at all

Hey Stuart.
By heating do you mean the chalets and wagonettes are heated?
If so I didn't realise and it makes them more useful to those of us on a budget and would give me a chance to visit during the colder months.

Makes sense though as I wondered how people put up with the cold over the new year as the site is open then.

all cabins and wagonettes have 24 hour heating (some 4 man cabins have portable heaters which are a bit crap) but i always ask then to put me in a cabin with a radiator and they always have. im always on a budget and zeeburg seems the best option i have found

got cabins before when it was -5 and it was lovely and warm. going to the toilet block was a bastard though

Thanks Stuart.

That does make it more realistic to travel there in the cooler months of the year and makes a short stay more practical and affordable for me.

I agree zeeburg is good on a budget and have always enjoyed staying there, they make camping civilized. I remember one morning sitting in the sun outside the Bar having eaten breakfast and lighting up the morning spliff while they put Dub side of the Moon on the outside speakers, a great start to the day :D
