i'd like to give camping a try in europe. packing my gear seems like it would be a pain in the ass though. how much does it take you to pack your gear adamster? do you get charged overages by the airline?

My tent is a Kids tent good for 1 adult and less then 3lbs « fit in my Back pack :D one year was tide out side the bag!
My sleeping bag (3 layer 4season) 2 lbs
the rest of the weight is Close and stuff i need to wash! = 35lbs :D « KLM is 50 LB :D = 0 extra charges :D

best part of having camping equipement is that when they open your BAG they look at it and dont go tru your stuff :D and 99.9% chance your walking away 10-15sec later :D

once was asked if i was camping in Amsterdam! replied What you think a big city like that got camping grounds? can one camp in NYC? NO! « works good :D

One year I stayed here I had 6 ducklings sat in a row right out side my tent. There little heads where moving in time with me putting my hand into a packet of lays. So cute and hillarious at the same time.

Some pics of the Amsterdam Bos campground and my transportation while I was there. This place is great and I highly recomend staying there if you are into camping or you are trying to save some money.

Amsterdam Bos was nice I stayed in one of the bungalows in April it was cold but I had a good bag. Transportation is another story you walk to a bus stop get a ride to the metro. With a pass you still pay for the bus as you are out of the range of the pass. Gaasperplas was nice also I tent camped there again a long metro ride.

looking forward to a bit of nature this time round, just booked 4 nights at camping zeeburg, due mainly to a couple of suggestions on here, i gotta say even though i'm not what u might call a regular poster here, this site and forum has given me so much information i just wanted to say a big thanks to all of ya. i was amazed when i saw my join date as i must of been lurking for many many years before hand

one issue im a bit concern with is i've booked one of the cabins and i just hope the walls aren't as thin as i'm imaging, even though it probally won't be an issue as i'll be so buzzed who gives a damn

Been in zeeburg cabins couple of times during high season and can't recall any noise problems. One could imagine that in september things get even more quiet over there. I think it's the hippies with tents and drum circles that can wake you up, not the cabin people. Have a blast in zeeburg!

Btw, ear plugs?

That's good to hear cheers man, am really looking forward to this, after staying in a hotel so many times it'll be good to have a change, reminds me a bit like nimbin in Australia where I stayed at a place called granny's farm, for me it was perfection surrounded by nature lovely weather able to smoke it down when ever while doing some yoga, ahh memorys

unfortunately cabin walls are pretty thin so staying up till 3-4 in morning smoking bongs and coughing too much might annoy but anything in between is fine. its worth emailing them and asking for cabin 9

Well I have smoked inside the cabins, just open a window and be at least semi discreet about it and you should be just fine. Have had couple of loooong horn sessions in zeeburg, good times... :D
