Ive emailed the old indian and they no longer stock balisong, which was the main reason for me wanting to go to the store, I will try the old man, any other ideas?

OP, the shop you describe is the Old Man. without doubt.

My last trip I bought a stupidly expensive torch/flashlight from there, with built in 5 settings of brightness, an SOS flash option and a rapid strobe light function which is apparently used to disorientate the enemy when units like the SAS are room clearing, with the torch mounted to their guns. Best torch I've ever bought and piercingly bright.

Also check out the shop called DUMP too, they have some good hardware, located down some escalators off Nieuwendijk. Just don't get caught carrying a knife in the city as the Police will have your arse.

Thanks guys, it was the old man, it was a success, i went there and bought a couple of balisongs and mailed them home

I have a nice 6" brass butterfly knife I bought years ago, got it down to a fine art opening it with one hand at lightning speed. I never, ever carry a knife around with me though, apart from a small Swiis army knife, but do have switch, flick, ninja star, huge WWII bayonet and an authentic antique German army flick knife embossed with that infamous eagle.
