Unfortunately I wont be making 420, I should be there 17th - 19th so hopefully even though i'll miss 420, i'll be able to meet a few of you guys

If your 420 is as great as it sound, I may just have to try a trip out your way one year for 420.

Sorry you can't make it USBL, we'll do our best to carry on without you.

Looks like you guys smoked some decent weed and hash in November from all the trip reports I've read, so hopefully they'll be something left when we get there this April.

And like you said "amsterdam truly is a heaven on earth"....that's why I'm going there for 4-20-09 instead of Baltimore.

we will salute ya ..42 bong salute at 420 with strawberry cough cocktails ,and mk ultra shooters....we will all be somewhere all at the same time one day in the future,im sure....you cant miss me,ill be the happiest person in the world

Good call USBL....we'll do our best to keep up on 420, not sure what we'll be smoking, but we'll give it one hell of a try. If we ever do meet, I'll look for the guy with the Biggest smile on his face.

Dam that might be hard to do.....everyone in Amsterdam always has a BIG smile on their face.

well i voted for it, primarily for that reasons, ihave heard of it before but put it down to one of those yank things....

ive also googled it a couple of times and it throws up so many urban myths around it i cant be arsed working it out beyond @16:20 on 20th April we get stoned....

I did some searching also and this kept popping up:

According to Steven Hager, editor of High Times, the term 420 originated at San Rafael High School, in 1971, among a group of about a dozen pot-smoking wiseacres who called themselves the Waldos, who are now pushing 50. The term was shorthand for the time of day the group would meet, at the campus statue of Louis Pasteur, to smoke pot. Intent on developing their own discreet language, they made 420 code for a time to get high, and its use spread among members of an entire generation. While our teens feel that they know something we don't, you can let them in on the fact that it was your generation that came up with the numbers.

A quote from one of the Waldos in the High Times article states, "We did discover we could talk about getting high in front of our parents without them knowing by using the phrase 420." Fortunately, your teenagers will not have that same option.

This high school was in California (supposedly). Who knows if it's true of not.

Sadly I'll be missing 420 this year due to one of the boys having a baby around that time and I can't get the time off work. Looks like my next trip will be June, unless the Mrs suprises me before..

Am fairly sure I know what you mean, but are you referring to being in Amsterdam on 4/20 or being at DeKuli at 4:20 on 4/20 ( or 20/4 ) , for the official MnG
