First post, need some advice

Hey everyone,
In two weeks myself and five friends are going to Amsterdam for a long weekend. Myself and one of the guys have been before. The thing is it is a mixed group, some of us used to smoke a lot, now it's not so regular. Two of the guys have smoked only rarely with us. What is a good choice to suit the group, in terms of weed, hash and also the shop (We don't want to disrupt people since there will be 6 of us, and one guy laughs like a lunatic). I'm thinking a nice sativa would be the best bet. Then as the night draws to a close we can break out the indica perhaps. I'm also really keen to try the Nepal Temple Balls. Thanks for any guidance you can give. We're all around 24 and are from Ireland.

abraxas is big.. you can surely all fit everyone into there easily.

new greenhouse on haarlemerstraat would probably fit all you guys..and its a nice new shop.

420 would prolly also fit you guys in there... and they are a nice shop too..

Dampkring on Haarlemstraat(sp) is a pretty big place with helpfull staff and a massive menu, If you tell them what you've told us I'm sure they will help you out. Have a blast.

Allright poetnik,

a group of 6 of us went late last year and we did fine fitting into everwhere. i guess we may have been lucky, finding a table to fit us all the time, but it was fine.

i do suggest the dolphins though, 6 of you can get into one of the extra comfy sofa booths downstairs and chill, chat and generally have a quality time. (hint: one of you must get the white dolphin form there.. lovely strong stoney weed)

another place that we found suited a bigger group was stones cafe in the red light district (the weed friendly pub not the coffeeshop). this is a bar, so the atmopshere is different, a bit more lively, whihc is great for later in the evening, when you all wanna go a bit mad. dpeends if you lot drink when having a joint i guess.

but yeah, in general 6 of you will be fine. maybe some smaller places like rokerij by the flower market may be a bit tight, but you should squeeze in everywhere.

Sugggest getting your weed from a well known shop like Grey Area (If you get there early enough just when it opens at something like 10am, you will actually fill the place out!!) then take it to a pub which allows toking. Dampkring is a also a good option.

Thanks I must remember that, I arrived an hour early last time so asked for a coffee at the nearest coffee shop, but they wouldn't serve me! (Only if I bought some weed). When I arrived at GA at 12:05 the place was packed out!!

Any nice recommendations regarding what to smoke?During the day we'll generally be wanting a nice smiling/laughing high....then later on I think we should go for a nice body-stone. Personally I started getting weird smoking years ago, you know twitchy, slightly paranoid.That's when I stopped smoking(that and I was fed up with an inconsistent supply of low-grade smoke). The last few times I've smoked though it's been good green and a lot of fun. What do you think would be a good choice and where best to buy it?My mates will get in on the Thursday evening but I will get in to Centraal about 9:30am Friday, fancy picking up some happy buds and waking them up! : )

Don't want to suggest any specific strains as i haven't been there in almost a year, but would say sativas in day time and indicas at night would meet your requirements.

well i suppose i would hit the sativa strains (haze?) during the day and the indica (widow?) at night.

i hate to sound like i'm some type of Barney's enthusiast, but they do open early, they are fairly close to Centraal and they have some great stuff, including pure pre-rolls that are nice!

well i am a barneys enthusiast. i know its expensive, but imo they do some great great weed.

check out flybynights pages of coffeeshop menus, and youll see all the sativas on there for a nice early morning, smoke. i always used to go for the Laughing bhudda form there. it was our staple breakfast smoke for a couple of years.

tastes great, hits you hard, but leaves your body able to move and respond, even though your head is really high.

if you dont go for that, there are some great hazes about, whihic in general are real highs.


if its pure flavour you want. the gorgeous smell in the bag and fruity tasting smoke when you toke. id suggest 'rokerij sour diesel' form any of the rokerijs. the high was ok, it did the trcik, nothing speical, but the flavour was second to none that ive had in dam for the last couple of trips.


for the evening, its take your pick..... something nice and stoney. green place does some excellent old skool strains like 'AK47' and 'white widow', whihc will knock you sideways, or 'white dolphin' form dolphins. im not a hash smoker, hence why no mention of hashs, but youll find some fantastic hashs too for the evening (and day i imagine).

thanks again everyone. The hostel is near Centraal so I'll probably try Barneys early, try get some Caramello too. Loved the AK47 I had last time over there, got that in Dread Rock...I think. We're going the weekend after next.Will let you know anything interesting we can remember
