good luck dude
Thanks, Cheese. I've already got a basic plan. Upon arrival:

1. Walk from Centraal Station to Baba headshop to pick up a bong and weekender.
2. Check in at Greenhouse Effect Hotel. Celebrate arrival w/ pint of ale in the bar.
3. Head straight to Hill St. Blues. I'd love for my first coffeeehouse get-high experience to be RIGHT next door to the local police station. What irony.
haha sounds good man!! i hope it all works out for you.. if you really want to smoke in a cop shop or close to one.. you should check out the bulldog in the leidseplein... i wouldnt recommend the herb, although u can get lucky .. but its an old police station that has been changed into a coffeeshop, you can even sit in the jail cells while you smoke.

I've gotten travel insurance when I bring gear like cameras, iPods and the like. I also got it when I had an upcoming court case, in case I had to cancel. Never registered to go to Amsterdam. Maybe if I went somewhere off the beaten path. Sounds kinda silly to register to go to Europe, just my opinion though.

The primary reason I'm registering is for the emergency contact information that's included. I'm traveling alone and in case I'm incapacitated for some reason (wipe out by a tram and unconscious in the hospital), the U.S. Consulate can contact relatives back here in the states.

Understood. Don't forget to leave a copy of your passport and credit card #'s with your relatives in case they need to fax it to you. I've had to do this, it helps. I also keep photocopies of these items in my luggage, but separate from the originals.
