Hey everyone im new here, im coming to amsterdam with some mates on thursday and would like to know what coffeeshops and what types of weed are must for the trip? Im not interested in the tourist traps, however are there any good ones? What cool coffeeshops do you lot hang out?
Also is it still possible to get mushrooms over there? I know the ban came into place recently but is it being enforced?

When I first went to the dam, I tried a few lesser known shops and struggled to get stoned off their weed. I can at least guarantee that the above 4 sell good quality gear, no matter what you choose. There are a few threads which you should look at with reviews and details about the pros and cons for each coffee shop.
Shrooms are still being sold, get them while you can! If you're brave enough to do the hawaiins, let us know how you get on!

first time eh? prepare yourself.
amsterdam is littered with coffeeshops, BUT like all of us, you will have a definate plan, "go here go there, try this and try that".... but after the first Joint... forget it ha ha ha, all plans out the window, you'll end up getting lost every time you leave a coffeeshop, covering about 15 miles a day... but thats part of what makes each trip so funny.
i guess one peice of advice i can give, is talk to the guys at the weed counters. ask for recommendations. ask whats the tastiest, or the strongest, or the freshest weed/hash they've got. you'll find that (most of the time) these guys also love weed, and will try their best to help you get the best smoke.
also another tip: if you are interested in trying as many different types of high/flavour/weed as possible, like myself, many shops will sell 2 half grams instead of 1 gram. just ask, (as the weed wont be advertised by the half gram). As you can probably do 1/2 gram in 1 or 2 spliffs, it gives you the chance to compare one strain againt another, especially if you roll them at the same time.

Hey thanks for all the info, its not my first time, i've been a few times but when i was 16/17 and we didnt really care where or what we smoked, we just stayed in our hotel and blazed. Now we want to go around a bit see where the best places are etc.
With the shrooms i really hope we can get some strong stuff, i did 5 grams dried of mexican on NYE in London (its so hard to get shrooms in the london) and it was banging.
Also i've put money on arsenal winning the league and chelsea to finish outside the top 4!
