Amsterdam Pub Guide
Next to coffeeshops and museums, I'm looking forward to visiting some pubs for great beers. Came across a great pub guide HERE.

and if you hired a bike, you could head east to Brouwerij 't IJ. Haven't been, it's on my to-visit list.

Thanks geoffk; great suggestion as always. I really dig small breweries, and this one just made the "definite" list.geoffk wrote:and if you hired a bike, you could head east to Brouwerij 't IJ. Haven't been, it's on my to-visit list.
HERE'S my "home" brewery.

Larry Bell brews fine beer, however Michigan Brewing Company is a tad closer to home and I like the vibe at MBC better.geoffk wrote:What about Bell's. I found a little brewery by accident one time. I wanted to see a windmill while in Holland, so we made our way to Molen De Gooyer. It is in the north-east corner of the Plantage part of town. Little did I know was that it is also a brewery, I tried one of their beers and loved it, yet can't remember what it was called.

How about Brouwerij 't IJ? It's in that neck of the woods, at least I thought it was.Denomolous wrote:I found a little brewery by accident one time. ill vouch for cafe gollem too. ive only been to the more central one.geoffk wrote:I'll vouch for Gollem. Though I've only been to the one in De Pijp.
great bar, great service, the barman really cared and talked us through different types.
the Kwak
the 'kwak' is a must try for novelty value, if nothing else. it comes in a mini yard of ale glass, meaning you have to down the end of it.
strong taste, strong alcohol content and strong hangover.
