Hey guys & gals! Hope all is well with yall and your having a great Sunday! For my part, the weekend was a bit heavy hearted as I just got back from my hearts home, Amsterdam!
For the first time though, I wasn't going to the Dam on holidays, but to find myself a job! Thus, as I spent my mornings and afternoons being interviewed, I didn't smoke that much or visit too many shops.
Oh yeah, before I start, I found work and am now moving to the dam! So hit me up next trip! Aaaah! Love life!!
So for the good stuff!
(I'll try and report the trip as well, at least for the beginning!)
So, I arrive at Paris Gare du Nord just in time for my 8:26 train to mecca. Arrive at 12:35 and it is pouring! I now have to get to my apartment in de pijp, and get ready for my 2pm interview. Needless to say it was quite hectic! And frustrating: usually when I get to the dam, the first thing I do is sit in a coffeeshop with a gigantic cone, this time however, I would have to wait near 4 hours after my arrival to smoke my first doob. Luckily, the interview was about a 15min walk from the apartment, so I got there with time to spare. The interview went great and was done at 3:40.
4:00 I’m in the Dampkring, still in my suit and tie, and grinding some G13 x Amnesia Haze. The weed was beautiful, perfectly manicured and cured to perfection. The taste was very G13 and the amnesia was a kind of camouflaged. Taste wise, it wasn’t too much to my liking, however what a hit! This gear sent me soaring (it was also my first joint after a morning of travelling through the rain, and a first job interview, so wasn’t really in the best condition). I really enjoyed the high as you could really feel the trippyness of the Amnesia. Also got 2 grams of Super Tbizla, one of my favorite imported smokes in the dam as I’ve mentioned on previous trip reports. The thing with this hash is really the taste. I rarely find hash that tastes so…. Pakistani! The Pakistani herb (that was planted and pressed I n morocco) really has a very distinctive taste and smell. I love it, it’s very heavy and rich; you really feel the smoking heavily coating your throat on every drag (also bare in mind that I usually put 0,5 g of hash in a joint with about 2/3 – 3/4 of a cigarette). Finally, Also got a gram of Ocean’s 12 haze as the batch in stock was particularly shiny and smelly! It was incredible, you didn’t even need a microscope to see the big cloudy trichomes on these buds! Haven’t had it since they entered it in the cup (a few years ago I think) and I really loved it! The taste was really lovely, much more pleasant than the G13xAmnesia. The high was less trippy but sent me on a solo giggling fit (don’t even remember what made me laugh so much…).
After smoking a J of each, I headed off to AH to fill up the fridge for the week and cook me some dinner! After eating I smoked the rest of my gear, and just as I planned on goin down to Katsu to reload, I fell asleep (was early, around 9:30pm)…..
Up at 7am next morning, I prepare breakfast all while getting ready for my 10:00 interview. At 4:00 pm, my second interview of the day was through and it was time to hit some shops! First stop was on my way home to get out of my suit & tie: The Noon. I got a gram of Pot of Gold 13€ and 3 grams of Honey Hash for 25€. Once the order was through, the dealer claimed having a very special batch of Blueberry in stock. Ofcourse, I asked to check it out, not expecting much of the cheapest gear on their menu. Boy was I in shock! The second he opened the box, the whole air reaked of beautiful skunk. The buds were huge and all white, the thing was loaded with beautiful crystals. Really amazing. So I grab a four gram bud and pay the man his 23€ for it.
Now to quickly review the strength and effects of the Noons gear: Pot of Gold was sooo yummy, as I remembered from one of my September trips. The effect was just as strong: nice couch lock effect but with strong giggles. Quite interesting for an Indica. Honey Hash: really nice smooth morrocan flavour (ie: not like rifman hash). Very relaxing body high, not too strong but great in front of a movie, or before going to City Hall to file for documents… Nevertheless, one of the best value hashs out there at 25€ for 3g’s. Blueberry: Now this was probably the weed of the trip. Not because it was the best tasting and stongest tasting, which it wasn’t but for the amazing value it is. The taste was actually delicious at the beginning of the joint, but as it oiled up quite quickly, the taste faded quite rapidly. The effect was really hard hitting, honestly, I preferred it to some of the 11 – 13€ gears I got. Nice couch locking Indica with an interesting “blurry” effect. I got a 6g bud the next day. However, the third day they were out and back to dodgy Blueberry. The dealer even got a bit mad at me: I went in and asked for the Bluebberry and unfortunately, no big buds. Also, the box didn’t even smell as good as it did the two previous days. SO I tell the dealer sorry and that I will come back the next day. He then tells me: “and where are the big buds you got these last days?” To which I reply, I almost finished smoking them”. He then says “See, you smoked yours and I smoked mine”. I just reply “Ok, I’ll be back tomorrow”. He then says “don’t bother”. What a dumb guy. The strangest is that he was soooo cool with me the other two days, even letting me hit on his isolator joints. Anyhow, I still went the next day, and it was still the same dealer (will talk about this experience when we get to the next day!).
So I went back to the apartment with my Pot of Gold, Blueberry, and Honey Hash and smoked up while playing some poker. After dinner I decided I wanted some Ice Hash! Off I was to Basjoe’s for a gram of Terminator! That shit is insane (pardon the vocabularly!)! Blended with the blueberry, I was completely off my head! Off to bed after a loooong walk back to de pijp.
Next day only had one interview and in the morning. So I had the whole afternoon and evening off to do some serious toking. My first stop is at the Noon to freshen up my Blueberry stock, even though the dealer told me not to come back. F**** him, I want my crazy gear at a crazy price and he wasn’t going to intimidate me. Same dealer. Unfortunately,, the blueberry wasn’t sexy at all. However, I get into a deep chat with the dealer, explaining that I’m no newbie and that I only smoke what I know I want etc. He understood (quite quickly too) and told me that the next arrival of big buds would be in a week and that if I wanted some to come early in the morning and I could get a big quantity. I thanked him, and he said see you soon as I walked out empty handed and glad I made my point instead of shying away forever. Anyways, as I’m moving there now, I’ll try and work something out with them. I would honestly be ready to have those big buds of blueberry as my everyday smoke, especially at that price. But only if it’s the big white buds!
So I continued off to the Green Place! One of my favorite coffeeshops! 1 gram of Blueberry Cheese, 1 gram Master Martian, 1 gram Sharksbreath 09, 1 gram LA Con, 1 gram OG Kush, 1 Gram Caramello. The place was quite loaded so off I was to HSB to toke up. I had arrived at 1:30pm and was out at 8pm completely stoned! The Blueberry Cheese & La Con need no introduction, I have already reviewed them in previous trip reports and so have others. These are really beautiful, strong, & tasty herbs. The only comment would be regarding the La Con: the taste isn’t as strong as it was a few months ago, but I think it was just the freshness of the batch. Master Martian: this is Martian Mean Green! Isn’t it??? Taste was exactly as I remembered MMG to be and same goes for effect…. If anyone cares to comment…… Anyways, it’s a wonderful sativa dominant hybrid. Dealer claimed it was Indica dominant but I’m pretty sure it was Sativa dominant… Comments?? Sharksbreath: now this is a true Indica however! Great couch lock effect, reminded me a lot of the La Con. Taste was very enjoyable as well, but preferred the other strains in that domain. OG Kush: THE ultimate bedtime toke! Wondefull Indica, the best overall with a lovely Kush taste. Mmmm…… Caramello: Now this was the best value hash in the dam. Thanks Soul Rider for the special mention. At 9€ a gram, I wound up buying 5g’s of this the rest of trip. I even preffered it to the Honey Hash at the Noon. Great smoke, great taste, my favorite post meal smoke. SO out of HSB, I stop back at the green Place for another gram of Caramello and OG Kush. Roll up a J of Caramello and smoke it during the walk back to the pijp where I ended the evening smoking up my recently purchased gear till I fell asleep.
Thursday, hectic morning: First interview at 9:00, second one at 11:30. Arrive at Katsu at 2pm: 10€ bag of Black Widow (forgot the weight) , 1 gram Morrocan Ice 10€, 0,6g Sulu Hash, 10€. Nice gear, but nothing too exciting. Morrocan Ice as good as usual. But I do prefer the Super Tibizla from Dampkring and Caramello from GP. I get it every trip though as I really enjoy the different taste this ice Morrocan procures. Black Widow: last time I didn’t find it too good, but everybody keeps raving bout it so got a 10€ bag again. Good weed but not tops. Probably won’t do it again. The one thing that bothers me here is the pre weighed baggies. You cannot peek in a box and chose your buds. Quite a show killer for me… But anyways, I really do love this place. Great shop to hang out and chill, one of my favs. The Sulu Hash: Their most expensive import hash. Never tried it, never read a review on it and was curious. It was between this and the Crystal Clear I’m already familiar with. Really nice and interesting hash. Actually smells like thai weed so I was very eager to blaze this stuff up! The taste really does resemble a thai or south American weed. Very tasty. The effect was also quite funky: very trippy and couch locking, definitely a great bedtime smoke. Honestly, if you’re a hash fan and want to try something new, than this is definitely it. Now that I think of it, I will rebuy this next time in town (in 8 days!).
A few hours later, I get off my big butt and head to Maoz for a delicious Falafel. Mmmmmm! Maoz really rocks!
From there, I head off to Green Place for a reload of some sick gear: 2g Caramello, 2 g OG Kush, 1 gram Blueberry Cheese. Sit down with my Fanta by the window, and roll up the 1/2g of Black Widow left with some terminator….. Terminated, I proceed to roll a 1g doobie of Kush. Now I can’t move! Get a 3rd fanta, roll up a spliff of Caramello and head off to the apartment to rest , tonight I want to go play some poker at the Casino! Completely blazed, I arrive at Holland Casino at around midinight, buy in for 100€ and 3 hours later, leave with 215€ in the pocket! Nice! Fall asleep around 4am after some Kush – Terminator delight!
Friday morning I’m up at 10am after barely 6hours of sleep. My train leaves at 6:25pm and I want to spend my profit from the night before in the coffeeshops. Off to Basjoes for 1 g of terminator, then off to Green Place for Sharksbreath, Master Martian, and Kush. Unfortunately, no more Kush! Got some La Con instead. From there, off too Dampkring for 2 gs of super tbizla. Sat down, and proceeded to smoke as much of the roughly 10g’s of gear left in my pocket (new purchases plus previous ones). In a world of haze, I head off to central station at 5:30 to mail back home the couple grams I had left. Then, with a final joint of La Con – Terminator in my pocket, I proceeded to wait for my train with a fine last toke!
