I've been hearing some pretty mixed reports about Amnesia, people saying it's not as nice as it once was, anyone have an opinion/been recently?I also keep hearing the Dampkring(not the pink floyd one) gets really busy, how busy are most places this time of year?

I was in Dampkring once, it was so busy I didn't want to stand in line for buds. Just me, I don't like crowded places.

damkring gets busy. many times we've been denied a seat simply because its so full. still, imo the reason it gets busy is because its a great place to be. nice atmosphere in there. its worth heading there. they have some fantastic weed (Mexican haze is popular), so even if you cant get a stool, you can come away with a nice bit of bud.

some odd reason ive still never been to amnesia....

Amnesia was the coffeeshop we have been treated worst. Not even shops like the Oase in Venlo have been that rude with us, no idea why, because we are always friendly, quiet and very polite when in a cs.....

This time of year the coffeeshops are generally quite quiet, Amnesia used to be good but after some poor service and average buds I promised myself I wouldn't go back, Dampkring does get busy but you should be able to find a seat.

Im with Bone, i used to be a great fan of Amnesia, its buds have gone down hill. Is it still the same menu as Barneys? Last time i was their the menu seemed very similar, prices were just as high as Barneys imo. The service....ive always been treated quite well. In the summer its a nice place to sit outside. Other than that, better can be found. I think the nice relaxed vibe i used to find in Amnesia can be found in Paradox. Although Paradox is more of a local scene.

Good atmosphere imo nice crowd in there friendly staff and nice bud :-)

I'll certainly make a return trip next time I'm there :-)

so are they a barney's?

de Dampkring can be awfully busy; i always felt it was worth the hassle but if you weren't wanting a drink (beer/liquor) just skip over to Tweede Kamer

Yes, they are a Barney's. The owner of Barney's is also the owner of Amnesia; which is why the menus (and prices) are similar. I, too, like Amnesia better when it wasn't owned by Derry. Peace.

Derry doesnt own it, Sissy does. There an item though.

Asfaik she always found it important to keep its own vibe, and then when she got banged up for something he was running it and it went downhill.

Amnesia isin't as good as it once was. The new deco bar area just dousn't make it feel as friendly as it once was.

However, that said it's still a good coffeeshop with excellant weed it's still better than 75% of coffeeshops in my opinion.
