Back 22-26jan - aftermath

Thought i'd come by and type up a little smoke report from the last 5 days.
i got home yesterday. i had planned on doing a travelogue when i was out there but didnt find the time. so here's an aftermath report
We arrived at gatwick at about 5:15, waited for about 30 minutes, got on the plane, took off, landed, got a train from Schipol, and all of a sudden we were at Kadinsky. It was easily the smoothest trip i'd ever made out to Amsterdam, and the disgusting thing was, it took the same total amount of time and cost less than getting a train from here to London. Anyway
By 8:30Gmt (9:30 Amsterdam time) i'd made a Kadinsky haze spliff and was well underway with my bud who got some L.A confidential. The LA was very dry and wasnt massively potent, but it tasted mature and very nice. And the Kad Haze was nice too, first time i'd tried it and was impressed, typically mullering haze. We then got some Big Buddha cheese which was stinky as ever, by 9:30Gmt we were fully cheesed out and made our way to the hostel down in Leidseplein.
I always stay in the same place and instantly noticed how quiet it was, not many people about and the bars were pretty empty. We got to the hostel, got a wok to walk, ploughed through some bud and went to the Rokerij.
I picked up some amnesia haze and my friend some laughing buddha.
Both weren't as potent as usual but smoked very well; the amnesia being one of my favourite strains the lack of po didnt bother me but i could of done better. The buddha was laughing at us after 5 minutes of arrival.
Rokerij is probably my favourite place to blaze, the atmosphere and music are great
I think after Rokerij we went to bluebird, my favourite CS purely for its amazing blue cheese. i started my own grow of this a while back becuase i loved it so much, though recently it had to come down, so i couldnt wait to make love with the cheese again
. Once again it was perfect, more on the cheese side of things but still retained that sweet blueberry; it remains my favourite smoke. I like the new smoking area in Bluebird aswell, though it gets mega busy. It was after i bought this i realised i had some serious smoking to do, so i got a bag of NY diesel, my friend some star warz. The diesel was probably the best i'd had in Amsterdam before, quite sour and that classic distinctive diesel taste
Then for some reason we went to get down to it and got a 3.3g bag of white widow, which was surprisingly fresh and tasty.
Im pretty lost on where we actually went from here, the trip was basically just made up of burger king about 3 times, ben and jerrys 34092358 times, that australian chocolate place, beer, pool, CS's, and waking my mate (first time) up every 2 minutes
Overall smoke
Kadinsky (Rokin) - Kadinsky haze - nice smoke, nice haze
BB Cheese - cheesey as ever, almost too cheesy to smoke. i got cheesed.
L.A Confindential - not very po, but very good taste. it didnt compare to the L.A back in June from Old Church though.
Rokerij - Amnesia Haze - abit dry, though mature, very nice
Laughing Buddha - fruity as hell, very nice, still abit dry
Brainstorm Haze (weekly special?) - wasnt so special, the bag was made up of crumbly foilage and there were only a few ok nugs in there. not very tasty.
Rokerij sour diesel - definately be buying this again, tasty tasty, almost like an orange bud and NY diesel cocktail, and that typical sour taste.
Afghan - not into hash but it was alright, had better.
Nice atmosphere as usual and good music
Bluebird - Blue cheese - as good as ever, if you havent tried it, i 9999% recommend it. Fresh and fruity, this batch was abit more cheesy though.
NYD - sour, distinctive, best ive had in amsterdam
Star Warz - nice bud, different in a spicy/fruity sense, its sort of bitter.
Superskunk - strong, didnt smoke enough
quality was immense for all the buds we had here, hopefully it doesnt get closed down.
Dampkring - Fruitcake - never had this before, liked it because it was a fresh sativa high, if you dont want to get blitzkreiged then this is were its at. very very fruity, nice fresh smoke.
and for some reason my mate got some thai, all i can say is that i'd have it over soapbar/english bud any day.
First time in the damp, menu was impressive, and they were playing my favourite boards of canada ablum, so massive reespect. quite a spin out coffeeshop with the funky lights. sweet place.
Grey area - Martian mean green - i cant believe it was my first time in the grey area, it took a while to find it one day so we gave up and went the next, i would definately go back and get more martian mean, its very different, strong, gooey, and a great smoke. we menaged to stay in there for a blaze aswell, it was hideously busy though.
Grasshopper - Kalimist - i never stay for a smoke, and if i did i think i'd ask for my money back. i always pay 20E for a gram of this stuff but this time i was let down. It was too dry, no smell whatsoever, looked like bottom of the bag stuff. quite annoyed.
Stix - Nepalise temple ball - finally found some, nicest dark hash ive had.
Old church - Blueberry - beautiful blueberry, perfectly cured, well tasty, fresh, probably the highest quality we had all week, shame it was a few hours before we had to leave.
Together we smoked over an ounce, again, which i know is pretty awful as i dont just go for the smoke and i do like venturing outwards occaisionally, though Kadinsky Haze, L.A confidential, Big Buddha cheese, Sour diesel, Brainstorm haze, Amnesia haze, Laughing Buddha, Afghan, Nepalise Temple ball, White Widow, Blue cheese, NY Deisel, Kalimist, Fruitcake, Martian Mean green and blueberry were on the list. ive most probably forgotten a few.
It was odd and maybe abit hard it being my mates 1st time, the quality of bud really does get you through alot more so he really dived in. the first night he did a claaassic whitey right in central red light district after superskunk and collapsed in a puddle, got up, did the same again, smashed his head, eyes all over the place, then got help by some dutch local girl who could speak better english than him, she obviously didnt realise he was currently on a different planet. this wasnt funny atall at the time, i struggled to get him up and he smashed his head on the side of a step which could of been way worse. it was actually pretty scary, never seen a stoner in such a mess before. he was ruined but soon recovered and was safely smoking again in no time. he laughed afterwards and was fine
It was a good trip but i'd had the intention of smoking abit less and seeing more of the outskirts; my last 3 trips have literally been 5day paradise smoking sessions. we only got as far as vondelpark
i definately still love Holland. met some nice people as usual and i cant wait to get back there asap. the only point of being in england is not being in amsterdam (qotw)
