Texel Island

im thinking of doin a weekend trip to the main island first weekend of may
and got a few question
the plan is getting there id like to got tru the woods all the way to DE KOOG on first day camp there then next day go back to DEN Hoor area to camp!
is it worth the trip?
how the weather at that time of year is it same then amsterdam?
besides all the beachs what is there to see?(ill have a bike wit me)
talking about beachs i red that about MUD-WALK??
where and what time of the day is the best?
what is DE HORS is that part MUD sand // under water??
any place where i can see alot of birds or other animals?
other stuff i should know about the island??
