Ex-Presidents of Latin America want Pot decriminalised!

I can't see this one already mentioned here (sorry Puffin if I missed it mate)... but interesting to read...
Former presidents of Mexico, Colombia and Brazil called Wednesday for the decriminalization of marijuana for personal use and a change in tactics on the war on drugs

Great article, chopitup! Other countries need to decide for themselves about cannabis and not let the US government decide for them. I hope for the best outcome for these countries. In addition to people actually deciding for themselves what substances they want to put into their own bodies, legalization or decriminalization can be a major boost to their own economies. I hope they succeed. I really do!

Yes.
Unfortunately, US gov't will play exreme hardball with any country trying to decrim/legalize.
When Canada was going to do this, they were told, in no uncertain terms, that the border would be "locked up tight", if Canada did it.
Although this would be a stupid idea (if not impossible to accomplish) since Canada and the US are both each other's biggest customers and product suppliers. Indeed, the US gets more oil from Canada than any other nation in the world.
Nevertheless, it was enough of a threat to make Canadian politicians back down.
