Although I know most Amsterdamers speak fluent English, I have an interest in learning some basic Dutch for my upcoming October trip. I'm not going to try to be someone I'm not, however my personal preference is show a bit of respect and try to learn just a little Dutch.

Found a Torrent file for and older version of Rosett@ Stoone HERE.

Unfortunately, couldn't find the Mac application torrent, so had to load it onto my work laptop for use. Used Limewire to automatically download the file. Expanded, found the .exe application install, and parked it on my laptop. Also burned all the files to a disc, which I use in the CD ROM drive during the actual use of the program.

those your torrent work? cause iv got a few languages and they dont work

I've been trying to learn a little dutch too, heard rossetta stone is pretty good, could speed things up. Is it all working ok, and how many discs do you need to burn?

Need to be certain you have the language disc AND the application program.

I was able to find both in one torrent file.

If someone can help me create a torrent file, I'll post back again what I have. I'm a Mac user surfing Firefox, and also have access to Limewire.

The application and language files are about 800 MB, so I used a single layer DVD to burn everything.

Perhaps, but in just a few minutes w/ the interactive language program I can count from 1-10, and know Dutch for the folllwing:

Man
Woman
Boy
Girl
Dog
Bird
Automobile
Red
Blue
Yellow/Orange
House
White
Airplane (THAT'S a tough one)
Horse
Run
Walk
Swim
Jump
Red
Bird
Fish

Not looking to learn little words....want to become somewhat conversational.

For me, it's more about showing respect by trying to learn a bit of Dutch. I'm fortunate enough to have the time and the means to do so.

I have lived in Holland almost 3 years with a Dutch partner and visited my Dutch friends for many years before that. I work hard at the language every day and am still very far from conversational. I understand most of what I hear but butcher de tal when I try to speak. Stick to hello, goodbye, and thank you, and you will be appreciated. Learning to read and understand a little is a good idea though.

Played about on RS quite a bit, but still haven't found a way to slip 'de jongen is onder en tafel' into a conversation lol
