Only one flight of stairs to climb and the shared facilities are right on your doorstep. Smoking is encouraged with ash trays provided but it is only a 1 star basic room. However both these rooms overlook Warmeostraat. Great for people watching late into the night with the window open and the radiator on if its a little chilly. Free breakfast too. Stayed here a few times over the last few years. No wireless.

Managed to get booked in at Keizersgracht Apartments for my last 2 nights for 100 euros. Never stayed here but figured its quite central for walking to Rookies and Katsu areas and on the way back I can pop "home" if needed on the walk over to Basjos, Hunters and Nes areas ect. Just realised that Barney's Lounge, Rookies, Dolphiins etc are right on my doorstep.. Nice

Is it defo the Keizersgracht location you have booked ? im only asking as they have apartments on Spuistraat and i made the mistake of going down to KG   pretty cool room we had off them one year was not too impressed with the last one in October (both Spui location)

Cheers Cisco,

Just had a look at the email and its definately..

Room 1, Studio Keizersgracht
This cosy studio is situated on the lovely Keizersgracht and has free Wi-Fi.

for 2 persons

(smoking preference)

However my figures are a little wrong. It's booked for 60 euro per night. Not 50 euro per night as i had first thought.

Thanks for the heads up mate... Now got me looking at apartments in Spui area for another trip. Damkring and Tweede Kamer right on the doorstep there.

Can you remember which apartment disappointed you?

Cancelled the Mallemolen and managed to get one of the Spui Keizersgracht apartments instead for the first night as a buddy is now making the trip with me so we needed a twin room.

I love your thinking Rich....

reminds me of the story of a guy getting sloshed in a pub/bar who was watched one night... everytime he left his pint to go on the dancefloor he would go to the nearest corner of the pub, carefully place his drink as far in the corner as he could, then have a dance. He would do this numerous times during the night, later when asked why he carefully put his drink in a corner his reply was... When I get really wrecked it help me not lose my pint, theres only one of 4 places in this pub its going to be..

Good thinking... lol..

Hey man I'm sure they only advertise two rooms at the Spui local is that right a twin and triple ? Well we had the Twin and it was upstairs and it was fine and gave us a look at the triPle which looked even better but in October we booked the Double/twin again and we were led into a room downstairs and tbh I was feeling a bit dodge about the place straight away as there were no bug boxes etc like you always see in Dam and unfortunately we did get a visitor !! I to this day don't know what it was !? A vole or something ? It was too furry to be a mouse ! but we got the fright of our lives lol I thought I had seen something but wasn't sure said something to my mate who didn't believe me , and then he said yer right it's there , right at the coffee table !!

I never even said anything to the people although we never actually seen anyone but I really maybe shoulda e-mailed them or something ?

Well I got cold feet and actually booked my bed last sunday night!. Forgetting to do so earlyer as planned simply because it was a holliday weekend I noticed the Bulldog hotel had no availability for online booking!!!! Fuck I think then realise they only make 40% of beds\rooms available for online booking anyways. So after a couple of hours of tence emailing some woman at the hotel I've deffo get myself sorted at the Bulldog in a dorm. More money for the smokables that way :D .

I'll be at the Bulldog Hostel the 18th-22nd with my brother coming in the morning of 4/20. Seems decent enough for 30 euro a night and it's located well enough for me, I'll be avoiding their coffeeshop for some of the better ones in the area for sure though!

Yeah the hotel is pretty decent for the money as been there several times. Might see you about there next week. Might be wearing a hat\cap to make me more notable to ACD members. So fellow members staying in the same place aught to have no problem spotting me
