Ok as of 2/18/2009, happy b-day to me and my mom.... I finally received my package....a 1/4 oz of usa neville's.....now I know why Soulrider loves it....I think this is on par at least with the SSH I had in the dam. Ive ordered a further 1/2.
The buds are of sweet size and crystally firm,, with some fluff, though a lil dry, not decaying in the slightest. Grinds nice and has the spicy earth smell faintly in hand...stronger when ground.
Firstly, the result w/ my new Vapir One Balloon vape. Great creative minded high, with just enough relaxation to make the body feel light, but no couchlock. It has that nice semi-dank, sagey taste on the exhale....with earthy finish.
I sat here for about 45 mins since I typed that last paragraph...or should I say Ive reclined since. Again, its not a lock, but a floaty, relaxed muscles kinda high with lots of creative introspection. Nice stuff.
Now for a joint to get the smoke taste and effect. Wow, the flavor shot way over to the earthy side, it reminds me of the sage in my Grandmom's Thanksgiving Dressing. This stuff expands like mad, even small, cigarette inhaled puffs expand strong. It has that nice hazy effect almost immediately. Already a different feel from the vaporizer.....I feel 4 feet above my mattress, more floaty than before squared. Such a head in the mist feeling, pushing me to pick up my oil pastels and continue on my latest piece....but its a bit dark at 11:20 to do that. I know now what I will be doing tomorrow though!
This does give you a light as a feather feeling, but it is still very cerebral, albeit in a somewhat sedate, calm and mild sense. Beautiful for pain stoppage, general body feel and of course creativity.
Working with Soulrider at 420 last January, we looked at 2 sativas, given I love strong as hell weed and sativa is my fondest flower. He had recommended the Neville's until we saw it had been picked over and was beginning to dry out and fall apart, so he instead recommended the SSH, which I bought 5gm of and never regretted it. Now I wish I could have tried the Neville's that SoulRider recommended in the Dam, just to compare to this powerhouse. Whoever grew and cured this knew exactly what they were doing...and Im darn happy, its a rarity to get true prime in this area...sometimes we do, but this is some great gear.
This is why I ordered a 1/2 oz immediately after sampling.
I must admit that It took me several hours and a nap to type this strain report of this great sage-y tasting weed, because I was so high the screen wouldn't focus, so I napped, and here I am finishing it.
If anyone hears of Nevilles or Purp Kush coming out of Cali....I recommend it very HIGHly.
Neville's in the USA?....Yay!

We took our canvas and insulated bags to the market yesterday
I really had no idea you didn't like Neville's. I guess the fact that I like sage as an herb as well as a weed flavor helps. From your knowledge and comparative critique, It didn't occur to me that you didn't like one or the other. It seemed like a very objective and astute assessment.
So, now it begs the question...since you aren't a big hash fan, what are 5 strains you like consistently?
Mine would be, and its in no order, are: White Rhino, Grape Jelly, Super Silver Haze, something from the wayback machine...it was called either Ceylon Punjabi or Elephant and finally one I remember from mid-late 70s called Black Bud.
I don't know the true origin of Black Bud, but it was earth with strong rich pepperiness. Ive been told any of these origins: 1. Somewhere in the western portion of Africa, 2. either Andean or Rainforest South America and the last ( and the one I believe most ) 3. Raised in the low bottom land and swamp land in the Mississippi Delta, from southern Arkansas thru Louisiana. My theory is the dark black buds and mud/pepper taste came from that rich, mineral-ly , black, mucky soil, rich in organic matter.
It was great and one of the first ones I tried, and I've never tasted that same taste since back then.
I didnt mean to make this a top 5 poll...I just don't think I really ever asked you (SoulRider) what your favorites were.
