Day trip.... any one done one?

Post by CHELSEA_SMOKERS_SOCIETY »

im getting seriuos withdrawl symptoms. i havnt been to dam since november.... and the earliest i can possibly get back there is july 2010....

and it'd be just rude not to reach the 20 trips mark before i go away... eh?

ive been looking (i shouldnt tease myself like this) at going for a day. fly in a 6am, and fly home again at 10pm.

no delays, i should be loose in the streets of dam by 9am, and can get breakfast and a smoke, head to 420 or kadinsky, smoke the morning away... find some lunch, and then head to stones or nes for a couple of pints with my spliffs, maybe move about to somewhere else, then stop in the rokerij centrall for one last spliff beofre heading back to the airport.....

i have no issue with being wasted in an airport, i never carry weed through with me, so no worry/paras.

i can get flights for £50, then the budget is a couple of grams couple of meals and couple of pints......

in theory... £100 day.... so achievable.

however as my 'ever wise and non-compulsive' girlfriend points out.... £100 may last a day in dam, but will last a week in india. and that is why im saving every penny at the moment. she also gives me angry looks when i mention how much a day trip is so thats a deterrent too ha ha.

so....

any one been on a day trip? is it actually worth it?
or is going to an airport twice in a day just too tiring/boring/time consuming?

I've done 2 day trips to Amsterdam, and its quicker (in travelling time) to get to the centre of Amsterdam than to get to the centre of London!!!

I think a day trip is defiently worth it, but your withdrawel symptoms will hit you b4 you leave Centraal Station on your way home lol !

When are you thinking of going?
Excuse me while I light my Spliff.....

Too many!
Fly out @ 6:50am and return around 21:00 on the evening. Its a long day but only a bit longer than a shopping trip with the missus
+ if you can get a cheap flight the cash you spend is just like a night out clubbing in the UK. so yes around £100 is what it normally costs myself.
You dont carry luggage either so taking 2 trips to the airport is not a problem (IMO)
My missus used to give me them looks too but as its my hobby (Toking) she dont mind no more. Grab a present or two and she will be happy
Nice1 enjoy

yep done it before and doing it again in May. The only hard part is trying to power smoke the last of your smokes outside airport without being late.

Edit - just don't tell her what she don't know and all that

I've done a couple of day trips, so has Rob OG (member here)... from my home to buying my first gram is about 4 hours... same flight times as you quoted, from Luton... back home by 11pm usually still buzzing... quite tiring but a day in paradise... priceless !

I've done daytrips to Eindhoven, and they're good fun but not as good as Dam.

The thing is right, if you're there just one day you will want a bike as you'll be hurrying around, so that would cost say 10 euros. for 20 euros you can put your head down in a hostel and have a longer, relaxed trip and do away with the bike hire. if you are spending £100 spend £120 and make it a 2 day trip right?

Sounds like a plan Ash.

I've done a 2 hour trip to the dam whilst waiting for my connecting flight. A few tokes on a whilte widow spliff blew me away! That was back in the day when WW was top of the menu.

Not really a day trip as such, but I did travel for one day to watch Hearts play Feyenoord. Spent 4 and a bit hours in the dam before grabbing the coach to Rotterdam.
I hated the experience, I couldn't chillax as I wanted, couldn't toke as much as I wanted and I had a permanent Numb arse from all the sitting.
To top it all off Hearts lost 3-0

If I dont go for at least 3 nights I just cant enjoy myself.
Endure

But then he needs another £100 to get him through day 2 of the trip, so it becomes a £220 trip.

Dude, forget about dam, you can get some good weed a lot cheaper in India ;)

Did a 'morning' trip a couple of years ago.
I was going to Barcelona to watch Liverpool play in the Champions League, and the daft thing is, is that it was cheaper going via Amsterdam rather than direct from Liverpool to Barcelona. Not that I'm complaining.
Got into Central for aprox 9am, and my next flight was at 4 ish, so loads of time for a smoke or three.
BTW, whereabouts in India are you going CSS?

Day trips are the way forward.
Nice suit, nice suit case, shiny shoes and big smiles for plod.
A ton might last you a week in India, but you can come home from your 'buisness trip' with many weeks of fun.
