hash..

Post by lexi »

Greetings!

The last time I smoked any hash was a lonng, lonnng time ago..it was so long ago we used a pin, an album cover and an inverted glass. Anybody know what Im talking about?

So as I continue researching for my adventure, I realize that I am pretty confounded by all the info about hash I am reading. I want to be prepared and educated so that when I arrive I can just have a relaxed time, and not have to be stressed about products.

But then I think of the following..cause this is what goes through my mind:
hash/kif/butter/budder/light/dark/isolator/bubble..something/terminator/crystals/pipes/knife hits/smear it in a j/sprinkle it in a j/bake with it/vape it/...
:?

I just know if I was going to A'dam tomorrow..I would not know what to select in this category. I wonder what I was even smoking way back then anyway?

Suggestions? Ideas? Links? Help please?

thank you,
Lexi~

When it comes to hash i bong it, when it comes to hash oil i put it over a bit of bud in a bong and smoke it. I prefer smoking hash in a bong, or sometimes a pipe.

Hash is a big subject, but let me try to explain the two main types of hashes that you will see in Adam a bit:

Moroccan: This is probably the most common hash you will see in Europe. Moroccan has is usually produced by shaking the buds for their trichomes, which are then pressed into blocks. Color varies from light sandy blond to dark chocolate-like brown. The appeal of the smell/taste is subjective, so I will let you judge that for yourself. For me, there is nothing better than a blunt wrap filled with a nice tobacco/Moroccan mix.

Afghan/Pakistani/Indian/Nepalese: Hash from the mentioned countries is most often produced via the hand-rubbing method. Ie. rubbing your hands gently against the buds, thus collecting the delicious trichomes on your skin. Scrape the residue off at the end of the day, and there's your hash. This hash is very dark/black. The taste and smell of this hash can vary (as does all cannabis), but I am most often reminded of sitting a field of flowers, drawing in their smell through a veil...

A good way to check the quality of a hash, is to first of all to look at the softness of the product - the softer the better generally. This is not always the case, and some hash can be hard/awesome or soft/shitty, but the softness is generally a good indicator. If you feel like you could mold your hash into little figures, then it is probably of a nice quality. This is especially the case with black hash.

Another way to check the quality of your gear is to put a flame to it. If it bubbles, your hash is most likely of "good" quality. Again, this is not always the case, so buyer beware.

You will be able to find a wide variety of both Moroccan and black hashes in Amsterdam. I advise you to check out the other threads on the site for info on what's hot at the moment.

Many Europeans smoke their hash with tobacco, either in joint- or pipe/bong-form. Some (mostly Scandinavians??) will "toast" their cigarettes (heating up the cigarette until it emits vapor and then blowing in the cigarette), nicotine has a relatively low boiling point, and it is possible to heat a cigarette and evaporate the nicotine, without setting fire to the cig - takes some practice though :D

It is also possible to smoke your hash without the evil weed. Either mix is with some nice green, or smoke it by itself in a pipe. I am sure it is also possible to vaporize hash. You won't need to fiddle with pins/goo if you are smoking Moroccan or Afghaan - you just crumble it with your fingers, or roll it into small sausages if it is really soft.

I am not that well-versed in the various production methods of the more "advanced" types of hash, such as iceolator or budder, so I will let others fill you in on that.

"Hash under glass" is what we called it. I like making a 'salad' with some hash/grass in a chillum. Speaking of chillums, I hate it when you pass one around and people are putting their mouths all over it. Gross.

..yea..the "hand rubbing method".. ..funny, I had forgotten this!

Once upon a time..many years ago  we had ourselves a nice sized garden..and when our garden was mature, we would wear little leather aprons with a little pouch on the front. As we clipped and picked and gathered our produce, we would rub the palms of our hands downward against the apron front, and "stuff" would roll off our hands and into the apron pocket. That was the best ever. But time passed, and children came..and we had too much to risk losing to keep up the gardening. That was back when we had to have strategies for keeping the deer out, (dried blood) and we fertilized with fish emulsion and all sorts of different %s of mixtures. Techniques have certainly progressed and the products have changed so much.

I do prefer to be able to enjoy my smoke and not fight drifting off into a nap and missing the buzz. Seems I recall the days gone by of hash smoking,..we all would get so hammered, we would go to sleep with the music playing and the tv on mute..talk about couch lock! I think we smoked from a small pipe..but the album cover glass thing..I really cannot recall exactly what we were smoking..little blobs of stuff..? :shrugging:

I know too, that I will know much more of what to select in the days just prior to our trip due to availability.

Not so sure I will bring or post souvenirs home..I cannot recall reading anyone from state-side posting back home successfully..seems its all UK people...and getting caught on train or plane would ruin my day. (or more)

Mostly, I cannot hardly wait to visit coffee shops, check out the unusual architecture and relax. I am disappointed that the tulips will be past their bloom though.

So, yea..which hash is which remains the question...

Thank you for the info, I hope to hear more feedback so I will know what to select..

be safe,
Lexi~

I always think of the black hashes better for beginners....dont know why, but i saw many people going white from their first morroc hash, but not many turning white or something from aghaan, its smoother in my opinion. so maybe try to get some light dark(haha) hashes ;)

It depends on the buzz you are looking for.

butter/budder/terminator are all kinda the same and most potent.

Isolator/Bubble/Kif I'd call these nederhashes and are also very potent.

Then there is imported hash like the Moroccan, Nepalese etc. as one of our friends have mentioned above which is very tasty and give a nice buzz. Try a rifman from the Dampkring for a quality Moroccan.

Hope this helps

I normally get the Dunya from the Rokerij II which never disappoints me (TBH).
I am not a big hash smoker not since UK Shit bar turned up. I know little about hash in general but i do churn my own ICE out.
There is some good info in this topic and i am taking notes.
Nice one people :D

Yes! All these posts are appreciated..thank you.

Am I correct with the assumption that hashes can also be predominantly indica or sativa? I much prefer the sativa..otherwise I just fight napping. :(

I am really enjoying everyones respect and appreciation for their smoking materials. Reading your words is like reading reviews on fine wines and cheeses! :D
