Given the choice of biking, tram or walking I choose the Bike. Not that each one doesn't have their positives and negatives.

When in Amsterdam wasting time is not an option. Standing at a tram stop seems like wasted time to me. Otherwise, the tram/metro system is incredible and I usually use it to get around town when not using the bike.

Walking is by far the most beautiful way to take it all in. The transportation version of stopping to smell the roses. Not quick, but nothing is too far away in Amsterdam.

Biking allows "freedom" to explore and get to where you want to go quickly, while still being able to choose to stop when and where you wish along the journey if you something catches your eye. Not to mention that it's cool to be a part of the Bicycling Capitol of Europe, with your own lane, bell and will.

Beautiful!

Hey stranger. Nice to see you stop by.

Back to the topic. It's a bike. You get on, you ride. If you're a bonehead, you do it poorly. 10 hours a day in a coffeeshop is no way to get better at it.

chuck.
