Props to Lemming, awsome site. Ive never been to Amsterdam and am really looking forward to it. I'm gonna be in germany in may and thinking of taking the train from Koln(Cologne) to Amsterdam for a day trip or maybe one night around may 20th. Unfortunatelly its going to be a busy trip visiting family in different parts of germany and one day is all I can spare for Amsterdam this time. Just trying to get a feel for what would be essential places to visit for a first timer. Also any advice from people that make the trip from germany/Koln would be good.
