I thought I knew a lot! :P

Post by Geneva2009 »

hey everyone,

First post here and new member. Hello to all!!

I recently moved to Geneva Switzerland and I am planning a trip to Amsterdam here in the next month or so with some friends. I want to make the best of it with the sites, sounds, and "smells" : )

There are a lot of cannabis types, strains, etc..and I don't even know where to begin in Amsterdam. What would you recommend as the best strains for a nice body high to relax and chill out with? I have a big group of friends coming with and a few have never smoked... so I don't want to bake them out of their heads and white them out.

I would appreciate the suggestions and directions...

Cheers to all,
G

hi man, welcome to the forums. Good 'starter' strains are things like Orange Bud, Santa Maria, Bubblegum, but rather than looking for names you might wanna consider going by price. Aim for the mid-range strains which will cost between 8- and 11- euros a gram. The stronger strains will generally be more expensive.

If in doubt, ask the budtender! They often have a great supply of knowledge concerning Amsterdam and the product they sell.

You're sure to have a great time 'smelling' cannabis in AMS!

I find the Indicas like the Kushes are good beginners strains, as they dont do much to your head, just dont begin with the hazes, thats my only advice for beginners, they can be really strong and the high isnt easy to handle for a beginner....

See, now this is where I am weird. Way back the only time I ever had the "way too high" feelings were all with indicas...and not spectacular indicas either. Of course these occurances were back in my naçent days, before I became the weedhog I am today.

Even still, the sativa up, just makes me giggly and euphoric, whereas indicas give me the heavy stone, time/space distortion. I like both, but the strongest sativa or haze high is just what the doctor ordered for me.

The info these guys are giving you is spot on. Price reflects how strong the gear is. They are also a-Dam experienced, and knowledgeable about strains, so you're getting valuable info here

My only caveat to that is, different weed hits different people with some very different results. I've seen some reasonably experienced smokers get uncomfortably high with some fairly mid range stuff.

The biggest tip: The first timers definitely should avoid terminator hash :D But most importantly welcome, and happy smoking.
How am I not myself?

@extremepain:
well, everyone reacts different, so maybe for you the indica stone isnt as easy to handle as the sativa/haze up-high, but I find it harder to control the trippy effect of a haze, than the indica-stone, which for me, is very light, because you can think 99% clear......so thats why even though I am a haze-lover, I would consider Indicas for beginners...but thats just me and everyone has to make his own experiences, but without that, live would be too boring wouldnt it ;)

I would say smoking a nice big cheese joint, for newbies smoking it slowl and passing around would help not to get them too baked, plus it has a very nice unique taste, does get you a bit stoned but i never found the stone to last all that long, which i spose for newbies is quite good coz then they would feel ready for the Super Silver Hazes of this world!!!

But as everyone says and all to their own, different weed affects different people in different ways, have fun man, im sure you will!!

I would suggest that it's not so much the strain you try, but how much you smoke. Just take it easy, smoke slowly with pauses inbetween each puff to guage how you feel.

remember you can always put the joint down for 10 mins....i also find food like donuts is also good to help calm the high and service the munchies

Great information guys/ girls..... I will take all of your advice and use it carefully during my trip. We are making plans as we speak and I am looking forward to it since I have not step foot in Amsterdam in 3.5 years.

Thanks again!!

I'd have to agree with Liquid Swords... Go with the cheese, leave the hazes alone till you've got your IRON LUNG CERTIFICATE!
