Going camping in amsterdam in june

Post by fireball01e »

Im going to the dam again (three times!), but this time i cant afford a hotel, so im going to go in my tent. Can anyone give me an idea what the climate is during june (ive been in feb and october before) and has anybody had any experience with CampingZeeburg (ive never been camping in another country before and want to see if this is a good pick of site). Im also going on a stena ferry from harwich to hook and since the ferry is leaving early morning, i need ideas of somewhere i can stay for the night in harwich, but it must be in walking distance to the port (im on a tight budget). Lastly the camp site is on the other side of the dam, so does anybody know how much a weeks tram pass costs, that would be cool (having said that, i had trouble using it when i was all smoked up, how much does single fares cost these days?).
Thanx

Hi! ill do by best wit the info ive got to help you out! first youll have to find info in ESSEX by yourself cause this aint a site about UK its about HOLLAND!
ZEEBURG is a nice campground cost about 10euro a night for your tent they got HUT and other places... to rent also. to get there to cant take tram or bus!BUT your better renting a bike form Zee for about 5euro a day!(youll need a CC to rent) AINT that fare about 2km from centrum
weekly Tram pass is about 20-30euro just check here : http://www.gvb.nl/english/travellers/ti ... icket.aspx

zeeburg on weekend turns in to a ZOO full of savages whom drink smokes all day all night if you like to PARTY it the place to be!
if you want so quite aint the place to be id tell you go for vliegenbos it about 4km North of centrum!
or amsterdamese BOS camping it about 1/2 to airport about 10km from RAI station! witin a BIG park!«« youll either have to travel 45min by METRO line 51 and bus 199 3 stops or BIKing take about same time witin the WOW park of nature!!
Weather in holland is the same then in UK junes max tmep is about 20c (70-80f)

I've stayed at Zeeburg a number of times and weather is usually OK with only some rain.
The campsite is good but tends to be more lively than the traditional campsite, Bar is good shop has most you will need inc tents etc
Trams 14 ( dam sq) and 7 are easy and reasonable if you get a tram pass ( have the strippenkarts gone now? ) bikes to rent on site or a 40 min walk into city center.
Staff are friendly and helpfull.

Walking distant from the port may be difficult, this is the one i stay in when driving around holland.

Or you could just get yourself to the port early-ish and kip in the port, or your car if your driving there.

Yeh, i quess if camp zeeburg is busy at the weekend, i should be okay as i will stay during the week and leave at the weekend. Im going to proberly walk around and do some spot traveling on the tram, as i see there is a route which goes near there (i could walk from the stop). at Essex I will proberly end up staying up, go to the ferry port and have a kip on the ferry as im going by train (on a sunday (not looking forward to that (i have to go across london as im coming from brighton) or ill arrange to go by night (which gets you a cabin, but at extra cost (less money for smoke :( )). If i end up going by night, i think it maybe cheaper and faster to catch a plane, i could also travel on monday morning instead. im getting stoked for this trip, its going to be great!

Instead of spending £40 on a hotel, you could get a quarter and smoke all night :D

vliegenbos it 4km from Ferry and after a certain hour youll have to take a night bus witch is faster then ferry+bus by day! on weekends the place is full of RVS and buses from all over and alot of KIDS! aint good place to be smokibg drugs during day time and no noise after certain hour!!
i think zeeburg is closer! and more fun if your in to partying all night!
