Hot chocolate was eeerrr not hot more warm chocolate to be honest but came with a fuck off huge emount of whipped cream. Music was real old stuff ranging from old 50's records and jonny cash and then more jonny cash !!!! I believe its under same team who have Goa now ? which looks like it has been revamped when we strolled past.
I had the same impression about goa as they have similar graphic menus

Popped in briefly last week. I had already bought enough bud/hash to last me till the end of my travels, so I bought a pre-rolled hash joint to show I've got some manners.
Basjoe's an allright place. There was a lot of people going in and out (afternoon).

While the location is certainly appealing and the service was arguably very friendly, I find it curious this is such a popular shop. Tried the Basjoe's Special last winter assuming it would be either a unique or powerful smoke, but unfortunately I found neither attribute there.
I'll definitely give it another shot in two weeks, though. I'll make sure to ask what's good at the moment.

was just as much about the previous owner as the smoke itself... now it's a just a nice place where I can sit and remember past adventures... and enjoy some G13

I loved basjoes, just got back from dam monday and spent my last few days there. One of the bud tenders 'hank' I think he called is a great guy, great service and easy to talk and have a laugh with.
There grape ape was nice and I especially liked there 'white choco' not the strongest weed ever but still really nice and strong enough and not to badly priced from what I remember. There g13 was good too.
Overall on my trip banjoes was my favourite coffeeshop I think. Will be back in 5 weeks and will be sure to go back. For sure there is other shops with more choice etc but for a nice friendly chilled place not right in the centre of everything but just a short walk away.

heard a lot about this shop but i just wasnt feelin it on my last visit! the smoke we got was way below the standard i would come to expect from a shop with such a following! got a few bags from here! og kush was what the budtender suggested so i got a G for 15 euros then left! was sadly disappointed when it came to smoke time! it was practically unsmokeable! compared to what we had else where anyway! ill give it another go while im there but this place only gets a 4 out of 10 from me! sorry! lol

i love basjoes, has been a regular haunt of mine for the last nine years, james is an absolute sweetie, and so was leo(god rest his soul),i went in there last summer, and introduced my new husband to james, and subsequently was given a couple of grams of reaaly good weed for free, with congratulations from dear old james himself, sadly i have heard that james has sold up and moved on,i am kind of gutted,as i dont feel the shop will be the same without james behind the counter,as a result of this i might not go back, but as far as amsterdam coffeeshops go for location/prices/quality this is one of the better ones!

you know for me it was never about their weed which tbh I rarely brought from there ( standouts being the special on my 1st trip, everything was pretty good that trip

& the OG 18 I think it was during 420 that I first tried with UR at the counter with James & then later when James tried to destroy us all with huge bongs full of the stuff

that shit was heavy

) or the service at Basjoe , which for me was just fine , never had a prob just going in to chill at the window with a hot choccy

what did it for me was the mass mix up of people who for whatever small reason chose to be there , thats what made the place so good , if thats gone then that is a little sad
